Would this thing be very "laggy" on a street driven VL.

I hope not because i'm putting one on my FJ20. I would think that if you had a good manifold it would still be drivable.

On VL would be great.

On FJ20 too laggy.

Im putting one on my SR22DET with a 4500 stall. Should be ok I hope :)

How much would you expect to pay for one?
Is $2300 (new) reasonable?

Listen to AJC, he knows all about lag...

$2300 is about the going rate I hear. Doesn't sound like you've done a lot of research though... don't forget the cost of manifold, wastegate, fuelling, computer, etc...

Stand corrected.. only some of the GT series have internal wastegates.

The GT30 series and above use external wastegates.

Actually Kris, mine's a GT30 and it has an internal wastegate :)

but mines special:D

I think what he means to say is that any Turbine housing that is GT30 is external. EG GT2530 would have internal but true GT30 would have external. Way I see it anyway.

Your dead right Nick, it's all about the exhaust housing. Turbo parts are just too damn variable to classify all GT30's to be external. Mine is all GT30, except for the exhaust housing, hence, it has an internal wastegate.

Your right though Kris, all the complete garrett GT30 turbos that you can buy off the shelf are external wastegate only.

Yeah Shifty i know I will have to get a manifold, wastegate, computer, etc. As I am building a whole new motor with all the goods and I am just looking around for a good turbo to suit.

why not get a Garrett GT35R BB turbo ...... i was gonna run a T04R but for almost same price ill have a ball bearing turbo for improved spool up time.
It also depends on how good ur manifold is and what wastegate u run....... id recomend at least a 45 mm

Can someone with a GT series garrett please tell me how much lag they are getting and what there general thoughts on these turbo's are. (also what car they are on)

I am thinking about getting a GT 25 (one that will flow about 400hp worth of air) but I am not sure it is worth it for the money. I will be putting it on a CA-18 and I am trying to avoid lag.
