G'day guys

I've got a set of 2 JBL GTO 602 Mk2 6.5" speakers for the car.

They used to work but now produce no output from the speakers whatsoever. No hiss, nothing.

I've looked at the wires on the speakers and they appear to be all intact.

What could the problem be?
How do speakers blow?
Is this what could have happened?

I don't think that they have been overpowered by the deck.

Disconnect your speakers, then...

Try hooking up negative speaker terminal to -ve end of a AA battery, and brush the positive terminal against +ve end of battery. You should hear scraping sounds. Or try speakers with different system, vice versa (obvious).

Check resistance between the speaker terminals, if it's 0, your voice coils have melted. This is caused by overexcursion/clipped signal/overheating.

probably a deck problem.
