just a call out to all you Darwin PF readers(all 3 of us probably:))
im just trying to gauge if anyone would be interested in gathering for a cruise or meet.
I organised a meet late last year at the wharf with about 30 cars attending, but i reckon we have to get our sh*t together and organise some more stuff so we can meet with other performance owners and enthusiasts.
Im willing to organise or part orgaise some events if anyone is interested, some of the ideas are as follows.
A meet somewhere like the wharf or wherever, a cruise down to litchfield and a BBQ or just a general cruise. Also if i am able to get enough cars tgether i will be able to get hidden valley open for a day for sometrack work or 1/4 mile runs.
Anyway if anyone is keen to help me organise, offer ideas or just get some people together let me know.
cheers

You'd be BABY_STI right? I saw your car at Red Rooster a few weeks back when I was riding my pushbike back from East Point. I also saw another black liberty RS turbo down at the drags (the night when the blue 'rex did 13.1), was that your liberty?
Adam
Count me in. But if a whole lot of young idiots turn up, I'm out there.
That wouldn't be the Rex from Autobarn who did the 13.1 ?

"Young idiots" pretty much covers Darwin's performance scene entirely.
I went to one street drag meet (down near Channel Isl behind Palmerston) and never went again.

Yep it was owned by the guy from Autobarn. Adorned a tree not too long ago I hear. That'd be about one 'Rex a week lately I'm thinking :)
Adam
I heard that he lent it to a "mate" and he wrote it off at the "cool spot" corner.
DRIFTIN

The 'mate' part arose from the fact that the driver/owner was unlicensed when he pranged it.
I heard it was pretty nasty so its a wonder that the insurance company didn't find the nicely sized Apexi turbo on it.
Adam
hmm more gossip, think I will add my 2 cents worth. Blue wrx from autobarn right? STi turbo apparently, he indeed crashed into a pole at the coolspot, and called one of his mates to take the blame since he was unlicensed.
I have a few mates that would be interested Damian, but we are all 'young' :) well kinda, all about 20-21. Too bad I still havent got my car moving :(
Driftin: attending those street drags sometimes isnt the best idea, I heard a while back from someone who was there that police rocked up and blocked of the road to the TDZ so everyone had to go through them to get out :p
Who else from Darwin is on this group ?
oh also there is a Evo 1 arriving, one of Irish's mates, so look out for that beast on the streets within the month. :D
the blue rex is kafkas, he is one of those stereotypical rex owners
it is so funny that he wrote it off, he come round the corner and ran into the coolspot, guess the idiot thought he was tommi makinen, he is on the odle now so he aint going ot be getting it fixed anytime soon
the evo is white i think, if not, well then there is also an evo in darwin that is whit, there is a fair few good cars in darwin just vary rare to see

I see a GT-R with the plates "SKYLINE" around regularly. It looks pretty sexy.
Simon's car is also supposedly on the road although he is in Japan at the moment.. the 400kw+ (?) GTS-t
IWISH/msbhvn: If you wanna chat.. ICQ 2328771 would be cool.
Adam
Quite a few of them are from south. Just noticed a few around Xmas time.
yeah there apparently is a white evo out in palmerston, barely ever seen though. This one is just arriving from down south.
but fellas the all time best car of darwin is the mighty boy down the drags, seeing a mighty boy wheelstand, then drag an 8
sweet stuff

hey guys, i think i returned to this thred a little late but anyway good to see a few more darwin guys.
Yeah i know what you mean about alot of the tossers around town, but im just trying to organise some stuff that real car enthusiasts will rock up to and not tossers like peter kafkas. Im 23 and not some old c#nt so im pretty sure i can rel;ate to alot of you other guys.
The last meet i organised at the wharf wasnt too bad, yeah we had some dickheads rock up but if they made too much attention we had a quiet word and told them to leave.
Most of the guys i hang with are quite normal and enjoy a quiet cruise or meet, most of their cars like my black legacy arent seen around town too often because we arent heroes who cruise around with big doof doof music every fri or sat night.
A couple of nice cars should be coming into darwin in a few weeks that a couple of friends have purchased from japan so keep a look out. That mighty boy is wicked, a guy i used to work with originally built it but had to seel it when he left overseas.
Anyway if you guys wanna meet up or talk send me an email and we will organise some stuff.
cheers

Im 23 and not some old c#nt
Define old..........
ronjeremyfan
24-01-02, 09:38 AM
my definition of old is anyone a day older than me :)
No seriously i define old as someone (eg-50+)who drives a $50,000+ sportscar car who doesnt appreciate it for its performance characteristics.
I hope i havent offended anyone and am willing to withdraw all comments within this thread.
If anyone is offended you can go suck my chocolate salted balls:)
I AM OFFENDED, being of senile age and having a sports car in the hope of pulling young chicks to satisfy my paedophilic tendancise...
haha no no just kidding :D

hey Zed,
so your the bloke who has the ''pimp' number plates and wears lots of gold chains with big pimp hat with feather boa and bright seventies attire.:)
Dont worry buddy i wont tell anyone, just as long as i can be cool like you.:);)
Hi Fellow PF members!
Last time I heard about a cruise in Darwin was on another forum (FF) but didnt get the chance to go :o( did anyone happen to meet up at nightcliff a few weeks back?
Anyway, I think a cruise through town right through to litchfield (please dont play your music volume on +50 when we go through town ok?) and have a BBQ there or even at East Point although the speed bumps may be a problem for my Lancer with the evo bodykit ( NO riceboy cruiser here ok, I can explain....)
DRIFTIN: How are you M8? I see your previous 200SX is still for sale outside Kerry's....Hows the Pulsar holding?
ZED: How's the engine transplant going?
Kafka's WRX: Peter did a 13.1 huh.....I wonder who would be faster? WRFLEX or Peter's REX?
Skyline GTR: The owner used to own a APS worked WRX....Damm lucky now! So far I've seen another silver GTR with R34 GTR wheels and a black R32 GTST or GTR? any more info on the R32?
Ronjeremyfan: I dont think we've actually met? <handshake> You own the black liberty RS? What are they like compared to WRX's?
Any idea what sort of cars are coming into Darwin? give us a hint M8!
Guys, I look forward to helping orgainise a meet? just give me a yell at: sickaz@hotmail.com
BTW, What do you guys think? R34 GTT, R32 GTST or S15?
L8TA.
That you Gavin?
Hmm Id personally go against the r32gtst its ok for the price, maybe a GTS4? :)
note: I have to play my music at +50 cos my speakers sucks :p

tropmi,
what colour lancer you own and is it a gsr?
Not to sure if weve met before, probably know most of you guys if i saw you around town. You would probably know me if you hear the name Huggins come up, thats what most people know me by. Yeh i own a black legacy and she goes pretty sweet at the moment, just need to install the STi turbo and chiptorque chip lying around home when i get more cash.
Anyway if you guys can get some more people together otherwise how about a bit of a meet or cruise for this weekend to chat or whatever?
cheers
damo
Yeah ZED it's me!
Ronjeremyfan: No I don't own a Lancer GSR although I do like them as a domestic everyday car....I've never been to any cruises or meets before so we probably have never met. I remember seeing a black Liberty RS in Fannie Bay a few days ago in the arvo...you? My Lancer is marone in colour with the evo V bonnet, You've probably seen me driving around. What do you do for a crust?
How about this sunday at the wharf say 1:00pm? hope it's NOT bloody boiling then as it is now!
Do you guys prefer KFC, Macca's or Fish & Chips? :D
Talk to you guys soon!

And me mark, Steve. :D
And Nathan is also a very regular reader but hasn't been bothered to sign up yet...
