Wondering if anyone would be interested in a Performance Forums skirmish meeting. Was thinking maybe the Samford one as it is supposed to be the best one in QLD, and also 'cause its in a central location to everyone (its about a 3 minute drive from the servo where the SEQ Mountain Cruise started from)

Bit early to tell yet, but if we were to go, i'd be hoping for at least between 10 and 20, more would be nice... :D

Does it involve any driving activities? :D

how much does it cost

I can't find the exact figures, but if memory serves me correct... i think its about $37.50 for the 3 hour session..... and then whatever you buy on top of that is up to you.... I usually end up spendin $80+ on extra paintballs etc :D

Daz.... dunno..... maybe we could all meet somewhere beforehand and cruize out?

Oh, another thing..... the track that you go down to get to the place is a dirt track, with a cliff on one side and trees on another.... not enough room for a car to pass..... (there are bays for cars to stop to let others through) and it is pretty steep in some areas and there might be 1 or two big bumps... but if you take it slowly, its all good

Forgot to mention... that price for <$40 gets you everything you need... but you will need to buy more paintballs after a while

ToranaFan,
What kind of numbers do you need? I have been trying for ages to convince the 'gang' to do some paintball. Probably could get 6-8 people in on it. When were you thinking of doing it? Got some friends who have a CS LAN every month or so with about 30 people showing. many of them would be interested too :)

keep me posted

Is that 'topgun' paintball in engoerra???

If so those paint balls are damn hard!, they must freeze those suckers or something.

Although I don't mind running around like an idiot shootin wildly, hey it worked last time :)

I have played on both the one at samford and the Top Gun one at Keperra (about 1 min walk from my house :) ) Anyway, I reckon the one at samford is a little better, nice open fields and some cool games.

I'll be in.....depending on day and date

At the moment there seems to be alot of interest in this day, so it looks like its a go-ahead... I'll make sure that the booking is on a weekend so that everyone can come and i'll let you all know a couple of weeks in advance so that nobody can say 'i didn't know' :D

I found an old brocure that i had laying around from my last visit that outlines some stuff, so here it is!

What do you get with your 3 hour session?
We equip you with only the best gear

Tippmann Paintball Gun
Tippmann makes the most reliable paintball guns available, and that's what you want. With one of these in your hands you have only two things to worry about.. Getting the other team in your sights and of course having fun

With 124 paintballs loaded in your gun ready to go!

JT X-Fire Goggle System
The X-Fire Mask system offers the benefit of full face protection, fitted with the latest anti-fog system. This combination will ensure you have uninterupted vision and fun during play

Skirmish/Paintball is one of the most exciting activities you can do. Whether you are playing for the first time, or your tenth, no two games are the same. It is a combination of childhood "hide & seek" and "tag", but with more sophisticated and challengine team goals, yet retains those fun times while your enjoying the great outdoors

Who Can Play? Anyone who is 15 years and over with a sense of adventure and fun!

What Happens? When you arrive, be it with a group, club workmates or just by yourself, you are split into two teams then after being given a participants lecture by the staff, the fun begins.

How Long are the Games? The games vary in length, they could be as short as 5 minutes to as long as 20 minutes. Remember each game is unique and you'll never be out of the action long. In fact in your 3 hour session you could play up to 8 games. Don't worry, there are breaks throughout the session to 'relax and tell tall stories'

What To Bring? Bring along your outdoor Boots or Joggers. There are camo overalls you can hire for just $5.00, or you bring your own comfortable outdoor clothing. Don't forget to bring along that sense of adventure.

Whats It Like? Your pulse will be racing as you alternate from one engagement to the next. your adrenaline will be pumping as you try to out-maneuver the opposition for possession of the flag. Armed with a gas-powered paintball gun the only thing in danger of being wounded is your pride. "Hasta la Vista, Baby"!

YOU RECEIVE:-
* A 3 HOUR GAME SESSION WITH UP TO 8 GAMES
* LATEST SEMI-AUTOMATIC PAINTBALL GUN

For a paintball session to be fun, you're looking at at LEAST 2-300 more paintballs.

I played an 8 hour day when I was at ADFA, spent $600, but it was awesome fun, especially as I seemed to be quite adept at getting head kills. If you get a few trigger happy people together you can buy a box for much cheaper than the lots of 50.

I've played at the place ToranaFan is talking about, and yeah they make sure you have a good time.

Thankyou whoever brought it back to the top, i couldn't find this thread :) Yeah, with all the cruizes going on in SEQ in the next couple of weeks/months i was thinking of putting it off until afterwards otherwise we're all going to be flooded with events and some people who would have come won't be able to or won't want to etc... so i'm thinking of just putting it off a couple of months, if thats ok with you all?

Hmm. yeah. it'll give me some time to toughen up so the bruises wont' hurt so much!!!

I'm looking at doing it after the 14th of april 'cause that is the day that the Todd Wilkes memorial cruise is on, and a couple of weeks before that we have synchro-mesh's skidpan day.... after that the calenda seems free for a while, so thats where i'm aiming for... probably about 2 or 3 weeks after the todd wilkes cruise... sound good to everyone? Some people have suggested a saturday, while this is fine for me, how many of you people would be working?

I know the one at Samford is good, but the one down on the Gold Coast at the War Museam is quite excellent. you need more tatics, because of the cover your enemy can get...then again, with a moving target like me, ya got alot to aim at.

Plus the War Museam could use the cash. They been struggling for quite some time.

MotoX
25-02-02, 05:03 PM
yea that war museam seem pretty good, ive been there, u used to be able to buy guns from there.
and it would be good to get a heap of ppl to cruise up there.

what does everyone think of the war museum idea? if thats the case i'd probably let someone else do the organisation for it.
