Yes, but it is an olympic sized rink. It's fairly good failities. Don't know what you have up there. Plus 5 hours.. they charge the same for a 2 1/2 hour session.
This Sunday being today or next weekend? Maybe if I'd had more notice and a few of the others were going I might try my hand at it.

sorry Shifty, Sunday as in today. 17/2/02. It was just a spur of the moment thing to post a thread here. That's why the short notice. Oh well. i didn't want you to meet my friends anyhow. :p
Hehe.. maybe next time. Glad you're interested though.. think that you're the only one around here!:)
Bevanchick, your looking at at least $13 here in Sydney :)

Yeah I must admit, our rink is kinda cruddy, and its about $6 for four hours or so. Still, living here, I think some people pay for the privelege of just getting out of the hot weather and don't skate at all!! :)
Daveee: Yeah but EVERYTHING is expensive in Sydney! (compared to here anyway!)
Synchro - About the only thing I can do that's co-ordinated is drive (and even then some would disagree!), but I'm prepared to try my hand at it.
If I remember, last time I didn't walk for two days after...

Shifty: Hehee.. nah.. just make sure you stretch before and after and you'll be fine. Don't worry.. next time if you come - i'll hold your hand and help you out. It's easy!
(that being said I can only say it's easy coz I've had lessons!!):)
Oh and it was a fantastic day.. can't wait to go back!
I have trouble standing on solid ground with normal shoes... :P
yeah like that time u wore no shoes to the movies with sarah and her mum.

I'd be happy to come along to skating some time. I need an excuse to get out the old skates and dust them off.
Too busy to play hockey since I got back!!!
Maybe this coming Sunday, the 3rd I think it is.
Anyone???

I'm easy. (Just ask Libby) :)
I think this Sunday will be out again now for me, but if you give me a bit of notice, I sometimes have them off, so let me know. I'm always keen for a skate.
Cheers
PS. Just checked out my street skates and they got trashed in the move. Time for new ones. :)

gasgasgas: Street skates = inline skates?

28-02-02, 11:24 AM
Gas gas gas, I think we'll have to play it by ear... Sometimes I'm free and sometimes I'mnot. Just depends on what's happening at the time and whether I do have Sunday free. I know I don't have March 10, 24 free..
I guess just keep posting when you're free too and we'll eventually get there??!
I'll come along one day and show my utter lack of coordination skills :)
cant this week tho coz im moving house, and the enxt two sundays im working tho damnit :(

Opps. B%$^Y dodgy mouse.
Sorry for the double post.

Gasgasgas: I think you double posted that. Anyways, Street = aggro street (ramps, rails etc)? Or just inline?

Street = Old School "Original Rollerblade Lightning TRS" with antirocker and grind plates.
Many years of hard abuse until I left Brisbane. Are now 12 years old but were destroyed in the move!!! :(

Coooor... You've got the indestructable classic Lightning TRS... :) :) :) I used to have those. With big CDS Detroit plastic grind plates, antirocker with 56mm wheels outside and 'lil Pebbles on the inside :) Those skates were awesome...
Unfortunately I got the Roces M12 so I sold them off. They were too big anyhow, and so were the M12. And now I have OUT's (at least now they're the right size). Haven't skated street in AGES though... Can't do rails anymore :(

I don't even know if I can skate still, it's been that long. :(
It'll be a bit longer now too, unless I go to a rink. I won't take my hockey skates on the street.
Maybe one day soon. I know that the winter icehockey season will start up pretty soon, so will hopefully play that this year.
Loved my TRS's. Now they're gone!!!
Oh well.

Why won't you take your hockey skates on the street? If you're not doing tricks (stairs, rails etc) then they should be fine?
Hockey skates are designed to be super manuevable and supportive etc for hockey, so they should be fine on the street... (I think). I used to play hockey in my TRS's but the mini wheels didn't suit hockey too well :p

Reason = $300 worth of wheels that I don't want to wreck on the bitumen. :(
