20 Feb street meet at EC

My Torana run 11.7 @ 114 mph the other night at the creek.I was pretty happy with the time as it was the first meet with the new motor and the traction and air was crap.What times did other members of PF run.?Also,if anbody got any pics the other night of my car can you post them on this thread.thanks

A red Maloo ute with 630+rwhp - 12.? (a flop)

Sorry, can't remember the MPH's. Not many spectacular times but it was a good meet with lots of different cars.

Dom Born's Maloo if I'm not mistaken. He was running street tyres (fricken wide one's) but still couldn't put the power down. I saw his last run from directly behind, a run on slicks would be nice.:)

Actually my best ET was 15.1, but my best MPH was 96MPH in my turbo Gem years ago. Actually blame Pete Cleary and Graham Prior, they set it up for me. ;) Yep nothing special, but I don't have a dyno special with that much HP and only run 116MPH. There is no way that the Maloo is going to get anywhere near a 10 with that MPH. :)

I might have seemed a bit harsh but i'm simply pointing out its easy to sling shit from the hill, apparently that's where all the "experts" hang out. Did you speak to Dom afterwards and seek his opinion on his time ?? Did you consider how many times the car has seen a drag strip ?? Or that he may have had a problem fuel wise and needs a custom surge tank ??

Take a pill. With my car I was just having a joke. Went really good for what it was, and that was a LONG time ago when Marty hadn't even finished the 323. Pete and I were good mates at the time. I'm not putting shit on him !!! But thats not my concern.

With this wonderful ute, all I'm saying is that from the MPH (which is a good indication of a cars potential) it will not run faster than a mid 11. If it runs faster, excellent. Until then it is yet another dyno special. :rolleyes:

That red ute was an animal under the bonnet! Had massive tyres under the back, with slicks it should run some decent numbers once he gets any problems sorted out!

First few times I took the 7 out with the current setup it went mid 12s at one meet and 13 flats at Jamboree 2001!! :(

Once sorted, the car ran some decent numbers!

Now to crack that elusive 10.... :D

Ok Ok. I know what you are saying and I do not doubt that it is a nice car with lots of potential. All I am saying, again, is that the MPH doesn't reflect the huge wrap that it was getting.

If it runs a good number congratulations to the guy. I know there may be setup issues etc on its first passes but still the MPH would be a lot higher than what it was if it WAS going to be a strip weapon.
