Hey fellas, one quick question

I have seen it listed that an s14 aussie delivered 200sx has a t28 non roller bearing turbo, but listed elsewhere i have seen it listed as having the T25. So which is it then?? I cant see the stamp on mine as it is not in view. I know I will get both answers but if someone is positively sure please let me know Cheers

T28. Turned into a T28 ball bearing for the S15.

I'm sick of people giving "factual" advice when they are completely wrong.

S13 with a CA - T25
S13 with an SR - T25G
S14 - T28
S15 - T28 ballbearing (with a slightly different compressor wheel trim)

If you are confident about this Turbz lets put $100 on it, check the serial numbers on a stock S14 and call garrett. Like Nucci I've seen this complete crap about T25's being on S14's and it gives absolute sh*ts. People should check information before simply reciting something they read on another forum or website run by 18 year olds who don't have a clue.

S14 = T28
S14a = T28

S15 = T28 BB

i havent seen any proof of an s14a with a full BB core. I will stand corrected when i see some hard evidence tho.. :)
EDIT: IMOA: you beat me to it hehe

The problem is after Nucci's question was answered you came in and confused the issue. This showed a complete lack of respect for Nucci and everyone else who actually took time to research a correct answer. And when you finally found realised that you were wrong instead of doing the decent thing and simply saying "whoops, I made a mistake" you chose to try to insult the people who had put some effort into getting the facts correct. I'm no expert, but I do know a hell of a lot more than you simply because I spend more time on getting things right rather than tossing out the first thing that comes into my head followed by smartarse comments. I don't give a stuff if you get something wrong, we all get things wrong, it's your attitude that sucks. Have a little think about that next time you want to act like a twat.

C'mon now children.

Human rights state that you are allowed to make a mistake. But can be avoided with research.

Now kiss and make up. LOL

Sh1t why did you have to go and do that for. Now I made a bloody mistake and didn't do enough research.

Totally agree though, I thought they new each other. Oh well I'll just shut up now.

I just got a CES twin dump pipe set-up on my 98' 200sx...

They tried to put the pipe for a S14 onto the turbo, but the flange didn't mate up - so I had a S15 twin dump pipe put on...

SOOOO - the reason for this is because my car has a BBT28
turbo fitted to it standard from Mr. Nissan:p :p :p

(Just like a S15)

Moral of the story, as far as I know - the S14a (In limited Numbers) came fitted with a Ball Bearing Turbo!:D :D :D

If you don't belive me call Trevor at Custom Exhaust Specialists as he fitted this himself, and we both view the turbo!

(Plus also only a week prior - he fitted dump pipe to another S14a which didn't have a BB turbo - thus he used a s14 dump pipe not a s15 dump pipe)

The T28 from the S14 and the T28BB from the S15 have the same exhaust flange.

i will try and end the speculation, as this is concrete 100% sure.

S13 ca18det was a T25, different to that of a red top rb20.
S13 sr20det was a T25g, which has a .80 compressor cover from memory. Later model S13s post 94 featuring 5 bolt wheel studs and the black rocker cover with the slope at the back (IE, s14 engine) featured a bush bearing type T28. There are some rare factory black top S13s with a flat cover, without the slope of the s14/15 motors, known as the RS model. These also had bush style T28s.
Later model Australian delivered s14s DID repeat DID come with T28 ball bearings, i know this because i have one and it has been pulled apart. They are identical to S15 ball bearing t28s from memory, with the exception of having fewer km's obviously.

Another happy s14a T28BB owner here...had it checked via the CHRA with Garret!

Glenn and Nugget...what build date are your cars..trying to work out when they did the BB's on the s14a's?! Just curious....

Just to note regarding Nugget's reply.

The post 94 180sx did not have the 5 stud wheels, I have 2 friends with 95 180's and they are both 4 stud. Also they both have the black rocker cover SR20, however are flat top, not sloped rear as per s14.

These black rocker engines do not have t28 turbo's either, they have the t25g...

Cheers

mines 10th 96 the very first s14a. when i fitted the dump pipe i was told it is a ceramic BB, not the exhaust guy, but the guy from performance shop next door looked underneath.

i also bought the dump pipe second hand off a later model 200 97 or 98 i am pretty sure and it fitted......
