I have a 1988 Suzuki Sierra. I have just bought a turbo second hand out of the trading post and fitted it up. I believe it is off a Cordia. It is an Air Research M10 and I have fitted it with a BOV from a Nissan. I think it is the standard vent back one off a Silvia. I also have an intercooler believed to also be off a Silvia but have not fitted it yet. All the information I have is what the dude I bought it off told me and what my mate and I have learned in the past week. I don't know what PSI it produces as I have not yet put a boost guage on it but I don't know whether the wastegate is (it's an internal job). The motor is standard as is the exhaust manifold and intake manifold and carby. The problem I have is that it runs out of fuel when the turbo starts to spool up. Pretty sure that it's a fuel pressure problem and shouldn't be too hard to fix. Any tips or hints or information on my setup would be great, thanks. Does anyone know where to get turbo rebuild kits in BrisVegas at a reasonable price?:)

But I don't want to go slower, I want to go faster.

I had a mate who was running a TX3 turbo with a different exhaust chamber on his stock Sierra engine. It lasted for years. He replaced the stock carb with a down draught webber from a 2.0l escort. You can buy an adaptor to bolt it straight down. He also had a small intercooler in the grill. He fitted a vaccum advance/ retard diaphram from a 3cyl charade turbo to the stock dizzy to handle the ignition while under boost. I think from memory he ran some 6psi on the stock motor with a big increase in power.

Found out that the turbo is the same as a Garrett T2 and T25. I have the small bearing model which I presume is the T2. Could anyone help with what vehicles may have come out with these turbo's fitted? It runs up to about 5psi but I think this may be just because the 1.3 can't flow enough exhaust to spin it right up. The waste gate doesn't open until 7psi and fully open until 9psi. So I wondered if I could get a waste gate off something that opens at about 5???

Hey Toname, do you reckon that you could get me some more info on the adaptor plate for the weber cause I've just tried to by one and Autobahn reckon that redline don't make one. The bloke down there reckoned that maybe it's the same as a corolla or other four of that age.:D :D

MattCoultis, The one I ran on my Sierra was a redline from a Gemini. Not sure what vintage. It was a direct bolt on including all the bolts and gaskets. I think it was around $35. I took a gasket from the Sierra Carb into the auto shop and just picked the right adapter plate. Just fitting the webber will give the little 1.3l some more top end. But not as good as a 1.6l. :p :p
