View Full Version : turboing a lancer fwd
To any who can help :)
I am planning to slap a turbo on a lancer GLi coupe fwd, and would like to known what size turbo i can fit(without being too laggy), while still producing good power:p :p

Having observed a number of tragedies evolve from this sort of thing being attempted. I really think you aught to re-consider…
No offence, but it’s really not a good idea…
The engines haemorrhage & the gearboxes kinda go…. POP!

The TDO4(L) from the rex works good on my car(1.8L), would probably be a reasonable chose if your on a budget($300 from my local wreaker). A friend of mine is running a T25(bb i think) not sure on the spec's but it's responsive and makes good power.
As for reliable, I'm in contact with about 4 TC/SC mirage/lancers. The only one to have any problems was running up to 16psi(NOT recommended). Keep the boost around 7psi with a reasonable intercooler setup, don’t keep it on boost for long periods. Keep the A/F ratio nice and rich, you might loose a few Kw’s but it will help keep detonation at bay.
