Does anyone know how, without having to drill everywhere, as I can't put spacers because of the window angling down at the back.
You can't without cutting metal out. There are holes there, but they're only meant for like 4" speakers or some shit. You could possibly mount them under the shelf on some mdf, but I don't know how successful it would be.
Without drilling, cutting or using spacers you don't have much of an option. You could always build a whole new parcel shelf out of one piece of MDF if the current one is removable. This would be the best option since it would be a lot more sturdy than a sheet metal shelf.
Umm.. the parcel shelf is structural so I REALLY don't recommend replacing it with MDF! If you cut metal out of it, you have to brace it.
I remember seeing a mate's car after he had speakers installed by NCS (a big and dodgy stereo place).. they removed most of the rear shelf and you could see the roof flexing as he drove along.. screw that.
6x9s are overrated anyway.. I don't understand why everyone wants them. A good pair of 6" splits up front will shit all over even the best 6x9s and the price isn't necessarily much more.
