Im sure anyone who has drivena car sideways and/or has attempted it knows that is damn annoyng when ur windscreen wipers/indictaors etc start going on and off half way thru :)
Is it legal to put the lights/winscreen wipers etc onto the dash/elsewhere like on many rally/racing cars. I'd gather you would have to leave things like indicators there, cany anyone help?
I'm not sure of the law, but one would think it is illegal to relocate any vital control component... i.e. steering wheel, indicator/wiper stalks, pedals, gearshift.

Would probably be easier to find the wire for the wipers, follow it in the loom down from the steering column, and put a switch on it so that you can turn it off when you don't want them to come on accidently.

Why do you ask if it is legal to move your wiper stalk when the act of driving sideways is illegal?

probably for canery reasons, and those seemingly 'random' license and breath test stop overs.
maybe your problem is that if you have an aftermarket stearing wheel which it sits closer to your controls than normal. you can get a pacer for it.
hope it helps

have seen cars for disabled ppl, wouldnt this sort of mod be available for them?....
Why not, all my switches for indicators etc on the MG are on the dash, there is not steering wheel binnacle and such a setup means I don't have to take my hands of the wheel as much.
Note: the MG is not registered yet, but I don't see a rule saying you can't assuming the switches are in a sensible place.

In a VL, the only controls on the column are indicators and lights (one stalk). The windscreen wipers are on the satelites on the dash.
wouldnt it be funny if you had a coloum shifta and you knocked it into neutral while doing some circles.
