I love pimping gramps mobile sleepers.

My preference would be a 250kw + Volvo but the cost would bo just a little over the top.

So now I am thinking that an 89 to 93 Toyota Cressida (MX83) would be a good choice lowered, nice wheels and tinted.

They come with a 7MGE Auto

I think to start with I would convert it to manual then do a an engine swap using ether a 7MGTE of 1JZGTE.

What I would like to know is:

How hard it will be?

How much will it cost?

Is the 1JZGTE worth the extra cost and work over the 7MGTE?

Thanks

is the cost of a 1J worth it over a 7M, yes, very yes....

ask on toymods.org.au forums, i think someone has already done it, turned out pretty nice i think....

hope this helps...

I would say the 1JZ-GTE would be no extra work compared to a 7M-GTE, if you get the right front cut. A Chaser is basically a Cressida with a 1JZ in it, so you just swap all the front end bits over (including crossmember) and you're done...

So what about a 2JZ

would the cost would be way to much?

If you're prepared to live with an auto, a 2JZ will cost $500-1000 more than a 1JZ.
