lowering methods?

hey
i was wondering if any1 knows how well this works.

takes springs out of car, put into spring clamp, tighten clamp until size you want, then get oxy torch and heat the spring so it stays that size.

heard about someone do this but not sure how safe it is.

On one of my cars the previous owner had heated the springs up to lower the car.. This was fine for the first couple of years but after that they sagged and eventually had to be replaced with proper lowered springs :(

Thats not good. heating them makes them lose there strangth a become weak causeing them to be unsafe. If i was to do it i would cut them before i heated them but u would be better saving your bucks and buying propper lowed coils and stuf.
