ok i am looking at getting some new/second hand tyres soon to put on the front of my RA40 celica

i currently have 195x65x14s on all corners and the back tyres are in good condition

now i want to start putting 205x60x14s on but i only want to change the front at this stage as the rears still have life in them

on the front at the moment are 2 differnt model shitty old bridgestone tyres that got put on when i bought the car

i want to get a bit more front end grip and get rid of some understeer would it still handle good with wider tyres on the front than on the back? or when i ge them fitted shuld i swap the wider ones to the back?

I'm currently running wider tyres on the front than the back (175/65R14 Riken Maystorm front, 165/75R13 Dodgy Dan back <-- only temporary while I sort out my rims for the back) and I'm actually loving it.

Front end grips like hell, rear end in the dry is fine, in the wet gets a bit loose. So in the wet I drive like a granny. Any faster and the car just constanly wants to swap ends.

Solution is obvious.

Rotate the rear wheels to the front....

Then put the new tyres on the rear wheels.

Have tried that. Because of the difference in the quality and size of the tyres it understeers like a pig (worse actually) with the smaller tyres in front. Which would basically mean I need to drive like a granny in the wet anyway. Which is why I put the smaller tyres on the back. More fun :)

i got 195 65 R14's front and 185 75 R14s rear

sucks ass in the wet....too much oversteer...since putting then on ive spun twice in the wet!

But very nice in the dry
