View Full Version : MX83 Cressida Upgrade
Great to have you guys on-board.
I am looking for a brake upgrade (still maintaining ABS) for a 92 Model MX83 Cressida Grande. Whilst I am not expecting there to be an off the shelf kit avaialble, is there anything you can suggest to increase braking efficency, whilst still maintaining servicibility and practicality.
Thanks

JZA70 Supra brakes are a straight fit, so i am told.
They are only single piston calipers, but they do have bigger rotor than the cressida.
(I know a guy with a set, unless he threw them out)

Thanks I didn't know that !
Thanks heaps...
The Rotor Height is .5mm shorter - so that should be fine.......
The Rotor Centre Hole is 2mm Larger - will this cause a problem
Same Stud pattern - already know that :D
256mm x 22 mm for the Cressida vs
323mm x 30 mm for the TT Supra should certainly do the trick....
(just hope those behind me have got good brakes too)
TRD - if you mate still has them can you ask how much he wants for the calipers ??
Thanks for the answers.....

JZX81 Chaser brakes are a bolt on fit, massive discs (30mm thick, and larger diameter), and slightly larger caliper.......
Southo give my mate Steve a call also, he had some supra brakes lying around and will most likely offload them cheap if he still has them.
0412 711 481. Let him know I put you onto him.
Cant have too many brakes huh! :D
Just rang a couple of places for quotes - $141.00 was the best I was quoted for these rotors :) - Gotta be happy with that...

Just out of interest though - all of the places I called, said that Crossed drilled and slotted were not available - even though they are listed on the dba website.
Secoh,
Steve said he only has MA70/71 Fronts there
they are 300mm x 22mmm - still bigger , but the "hat" height is only 53.5mm - so I would need 14.5mm spacers... Hmmmmm, dunno how (a) legal that is, or (b) Safe that is..
Thanks again to everyone who helped
Project Sleeper is on the way....
This may interest you but I have a set of GA70 front struts with disc and caliper, if your interested let me know
