I got a 4WS 89/90 MX-6
I had some good bendex pads but eat through them to backing pad in 1 month proved to be too soft. So now have some Gav Sport don't what type but they cost $100 a side.
I now have aftermarket wheels which work better as more air gets to them.
My current problem is that they are almost out I think been in 6 months and a bit. My brake pedal has alot of travel before I can feel real contact. I don't know if it's the pads or my boster or master cylinder but it's not leaking.
I also want to put on some Cross drilled slotted rotors but DBA don't make'em on there list of discs. But Brembo do but have to get them from the US
can anyone Help with this

Excessive brake pedal travel can be caused by a few things.

* Piston knock back from disc run out or worn wheel bearings
* Air in the fluid system
* Too small a master cylinder for the caliper.

If you get a firm pedal after the inital travel them its probably piston knock back. This can be checked with a dial gauge mounted on the strut/control arm and the indicator point on the braking surface. You can check for runout by rotating the disc ( 0.15mm runnout max) and check the bearings at the same time by holding the disc firmly top and bottom and pushing in and out. No need to try and snap the axle just firm. (0.1mm max). You will need to fix the rotor to the hub with the wheel nuts of course.

If the pedal feels soft all the time, then its probably air in the lines, real crappy fluid, or a small master cylinder ( rarely)
