I have a '85 S3 Rx7 running a carby fed 13b extend port, the car is a street car (not a daily driver though) and will see some club track days (super sprints ect..).

The front discs are now near replacement so there's not better time to ask this question;)

Should I replace all four disc rotors for the DBA slotted ones and run some good quality H/D pads or should I be looking at a larger disc and 4 spot caliper conversion?

Also I have been recommended pads made by "Lucas" has anyone used these??

any thoughts and suggestions are welcome:cool:

Series 3 is a hub type rotor. I wouldn't go through the hassle and expense of an upgrade unless your having braking problems now.
Try slotted rotors with a Ferodo DS2500 pad on the track.

We have tried Lucas pads and they seem to be quite good for street use.
I would be very cautious about using any street pad on the track though. Thats how people break rotors and bump into things.

thanks for that steve...
i havent seen track use is this car yet and the rotors will need replacing before i get it on the track..
I did take out my old s2 rx7 a few times though and it was definatly in need of a upgrade, but as you would know the s3 has bigger brakes to start with.

what are the Ferodo DS2500 like on the street? or should i be looking at a street set of pads for the street then going to a race type pad for track days?

thanks again :-)

The DS2000 and DS2500 are a high performance street / track pad so there is no problem using them on the street.
The only reason you may want to change pads for the street is to save money as these pads are quite expensive compared to normal street pads. Not as expensive as Pagids, PFC, or Endless though.
