View Full Version : Brake Upgrade for Supra
Ok, I'm toying with doing a brake upgrade in the near future for the supra....
It currently has the 93/94 spec 295mm rotors and 2 pots up front..... they aren't really that great....
I was wondering what options there are - preferably not too expensive.... I'm not going to go buy a set of brembo's etc. (unless they are off a gtr etc)....
Do DBA make the kangaroo paws in a 330mm size - ala 95 onwards 4 pot spec for supras?
The other option was to buy a set of big reds for $1500 or so and get some new discs.... either $300 each from porsche or some DBA alternatives - if they make them....
So whats some ideas? what other cars came out with some nice big calipers?
Cheers,
Simon.

Our new JZA 80 Twin Turbo Supra discs are 323mm x 30mm with the same centre bore and stud holes. They're skippy design too.
DBA 718 front and the rears are the same disc as you currently have.
why did they make them 323mm?
the 93 spec are 295mm and the 95 onwards spec are 330mm?
last time i checked dba even listed a 330mm rotor.? (for the JZA80)

It is an odd size but thats what the O.E sample is and we have to make it the same.
Probably a wheel/caliper clearance issue
Simmmo you could get those 323mm discs and some front 4 pot calipers from a 95+ seen a couple around awhile ago for $300 for the fronts. Many have said that they are a straight bolt on.
That would be great nick - only problem is finding them!
I've never seen any for sale in aus...... all the ones on supraforums sell for like $300US....... so thats pretty exxy by the time they get here......
If you ever see some for sale then please tell me about them :)

Are the DBA Rotors for the MK3 Supra (MA70/71) available in skippy design?
Also, if "skippy" is 20% more efficient than OEM, then how much more efficient is it than an equivalent non-skippy DBA rotor?
Oh, the rotors I'm talking about are 715's and 716's in slotted.
Finally, any recommendations on suitable pad for fun street driving?

Sorry, we dont do the MA70/71 in the skippy design. Because of the low volume sales we buy these in from Brembo which are an excellent quality rotor.
