nah...I already know how much vtir teg rims cost LOL....my old insurance company felt it, when I got my rims stolen last year.
I'm after some stockers for my teg..or otherwise...some nice looking 15s....for track use.
P.S I forgot the vtir was from 95 - 98. :p

I'm talking about the hatches...the civic coupes are different.... my cousin has a 2000 coupe vtir :D and my sis has a hatchback vtir ;)

EK4 Hatchback got VtiR up till 2000 as mine 98 are VtiR as well.
Cxi for $20k will NEVER be sold...............
Cxi with mod will price at 18k marked.

I was saying that with EK vtir hatches were released here from 95 - 98. The coupes are different. They are built in the US. and the rest of the EK civics after then were Cxi, or GL or sometimes the limited edition Cxi model, with the bodykit.

EK VTiR hatch was made from 95 - 98 and in 98 sometime, the coupe's started to come out as VTiR and the hatch discontinued.
But yes $20k is a little too much for a 00 Civic.

my mate got a 99 EK4 VtiR HB and I saw a 00 VTIR HB somewhere when I buy my VTIR

hey i believe FunkyGas, u can get a vtir in 99 and 00 then it stopped!!! and in the same time the coupe also came the option of vtir too...i kno this as i have the EM1 from the US and i saw a 00 vtir hb for sale in a honda dealer....

Heya guyz.
Jus wondering i was givin my mate a run in his gti wif my sis's VTiR.
We started off and we both are near at the begining of 1st but by the end of 1st he starts taking off, and gains a half a car lead in the begining of second but as the end of 2nd my Vtec kicks in but we stop.
I was jus a little stirred as the VTiR has 119Kw Vs a GTi of 100Kw.
My sis's car has a King Dragon air filter, and a 3inch cat bak exhaust wif a 2.5 inch tip.
The Gti has a o2rush air filter and that would b it.
Now how d hell did he beat me?
ok coulda been my shit drivin but is there ne otha reasonz????

don't think he should've beaten you at the end of first.
and the mods that were made just makes your car noisier

Firstly - Pod filters open to the engine bay means that you are sucking in more hot air and losing power. 3 inch exhaust is far too big for a B16A motor - you are losing power there too. Why do you have your exhaust tip choking the flow anyway. Most ricers do the reverse, small exhaust, large tip :p
Finally, VTEC should cut in at 5400 in all gears, not starting at second or happening at the end of your shifts. You must be doing 7400 to have all power happening as that is the peak. To get your shifts right and keep the car on the VTEC powerband, you must shift at 8200 (right before cut out) in order to keep the revs high enough to keep the VTEC on and your momentum up. Going to 100? You're nowhere near a 1/4 mile as such things are measured. At 100 you should be shifting into 3rd and going even faster in order to pull away.
Other than that, VTiRs weigh a f*cking ton compared to a GTi - there's part of the issue.

well, i've got a GTI in the garage @ home parked in next to my integra.... the fact that the GTI weighs approx 730kg is probably the reason it can kick ur +1 tonne civic's ass
p.s to make u feeeel even better the GTi's 1.3litre twin in it's stock form is screamin down the runway with a mere 78kw of power... :)

no offence, but u really should have look at the trading post to see how much u're car goes for..........a civic vti-r hatch is going for less than 17k these days,.......and may i ad that a vti-r has- p/s, a/c, sunroof.......and off course the all important 160hp b16a.

look at how many vtec fans there is here. can't control myself, have to add something. hauhauha
anways, i think we should look at the power band of the vtir. its way up there. in normal road conditions, there's just not enough road to really test the potential of vtec. morever since both are NA, and should have simlar kinnda of torque. wat i sugeest is, test it a few laps round the track, and then we'll see whether the GTI is as good as it sounds.

err no. i beat gti's in standard crx (thats right kids, no vtec here). so i'd be hoping a vtir with a bonus 22kW could do the same.

Dont normally get involved in this stuff but I had a VtiR Coupe yup heavier than the HB and I used to consistently SLAM Gti's..........................

Yeah... my VTiR hatch pretty much eats most things on the road
guys i think if you read his post again, he is refering to a Corolla GTI not a Swift....
Correct me if im wrong, but the Corolla does have around 100KW, and would perform pretty much the same as the Civic in a straight line, and at the end of the day it'd come down to who's the better driver.

sorry not to be an ass but the vtir coupe is slightly lighter than the HB. im not sure why but maybe is due to the couple dosent come out with a sunroof which glass weighs abit.

Since when have they been lighter? Not last time I checked. In fact, I think the VTiR 'teg was lighter than the VTiR Civic Coupe.
As for the idiot in the Suzuki - good on ya for making me remember that the Swift GTi drivers were always the first ricers in this country, not Civic drivers. Thanks mag-racer-boy :p

i dont think the vtir has 119kw... i thought it was a little closer to the 110 mark... but not that it makes a big difference, should still beat a gti haha :)

Hey dude.. it is strange how you lose to a gti.. i know they are fast.. but not as fast as EK VTIR.. did you ever get the RPM over 5800 and engage the VTEC ?? anyway.. the top speed should kill a gti anyhow.. try the freeway.. u'll destroy him.
