What's the best sealant to use on extractor gaskets? I am having trouble with a BB Chev, that after several heating/cooling cycles, the extractors start leaking at the heads.
Use silastic. It works wonders!

Yeah silastic is cool get some of that, get the right colour though, if I remember correctly different colours have different uses. Think black is the one your looking for, read the label on it and ask the person in the shop.

Yep, different colours are for different uses / heat ranges. The orange one works well for me on the exhaust manifold, i use just the silicone without a gasket and it doesn't leak.
If it still continues to blow-out regularly, you may need to have the flange on the extractors machined, or possibly the head.

Have bought some Loctite "Copper Maxx Silicone". It is recommended for exhaust manifolds. Thanks for the replys.
What type extractor gaskets you using??
If they're the paper type gaskets, thats your problem.
Use the thicker metal type manifold gaskets, never had any probs with them.
