Dont pay more than 4 grand for the complete engine and gearbox transplant parts, then add extra for labour.
You will also need extra for clutch, pedals, tailshaft and some custom fabrication such as gearbox mount.
I had a custom tailshaft made up for my car by a mob around 20 mins from me, while they did an absolutely first class job on it, I will never give them any more business due to them quoting me how much the job will cost, being two days late and then when I arrive with the money they tell me its what they quoted me plus GST.
Anyway, a company that I have since found out about and would recommend higher is Cheers Engineering in Bayswater, word is they know their stuff and have done a fair few custom jobs just like this one, similar pricing but they're completely honest and upfront.
For the labour to do the transplant should take any competant workshop about a day to get the engine out and new engine and gearbox in, plus a few hours for the clutch and engineer up a custom crossmember to suit. Add another 5 hours for an auto elec who has the correct wiring diagrams for both engines and cars and there you go.
Thanks heaps mate, the cars out that way of melb!
I'll definatly give em a call!!

Yeah no problem. Definitely see someone who's done the conversion before. It took me ages to do everything when I had to figure out what to put where and so forth, now that I've done the conversion on my car it would take me 70% less time to do it again on another one :)
If the workshop says they've done the job before, ask to see the car(s) they've converted and speak to the owner(s) before booking your car in for the work.
