How do i go about changing a auto to manual gearbox in a silvia ca18det 1990 do i have to get a permit to do it.

And how much should i pay for a gearbox and all the other stuff needed?

Is it woth getting done by some one and how much does this cost?

Is it easy to do your self?

thanks

Id say you should be able to get a manual box outta another silvia of that era + driveshafts and it should go straight in almost. Give your local jap wreckers a call im sure they will be able to guide you along the correct path.

I researched this before I got enough money to put an rb20det in my silvia. You need:

cadet gearbox
ca manual tailshaft
ca manual flywheel
new pilot bushing (goes somewhere around end of crank and start of gearbox)
I can't remember what else but there is a site on the net which has a really good guide for it. I think I know where it is, one sec and I'll find it.

I found it.
That is the most comprehensive resource I have found on the net for doing the conversion.
