I have put vlturbo brakes on my vb wagon (they came off a V6 VN strangely enough) along with a 1 inch master (also off the vn) and I used a V6 booster which I had at home (the vn i got the stoppers off looked to have a v8 booster, the smaller diameter one) my car also has rear disks, my problem is the pedal feels like it is a lot closer to the floor than it used to be, could this be because of the v6 booster?

also could anyone tell me which car the larger pads come off that you can mod to fit into the turbo caliper?

cheers

Falcon pads, DB1075, apparently you nick the corners of the metal backing a bit to fit into the caliper.

Sounds like the master you've fitted might be dodgy too.
Does it have "1" cast under the front of the resi ??

the master is a one inch, off a vn or later as it has the 45 degree fitting at the front for one of the brake lines, I had to re-bend my line to get it in there. The master looks in good shape and apart from the pedal being low the brakes work well. I was thinking that maybe the rod in the booster is too short but I know its a long shot

edit: yes has 1 cast on it, looks exactly the same as my brothers VN v8 master

Master might need overhauling if its an old one. It might have a slight bypass.
Other than that its probably a weak support bracket.

Can you clamp off the flex lines and see if you have a firm hard pedal then.
Drp one clamp off at a time and see when the pedal drops......when it does thats your dud corner. Then you need to check the calipers, hoses etc

Oh yeah you did put the calipers on the correct sides of the car so the bleeder is pointing up right ??

Was there an adjustment on the pushrod between the booster and master cylinder?

If you mismatched a booster and master cylinder there might be a bit of play before the pin coming out of the boost is actually contacting the piston in the back of the master cylinder

Commonwhore has no adjustment.
All masters from VB-VR are interchangeable as far as piston depth is concerned.
