I am doing a gemini with a 1GGTE and about 350+rwhp, it will have a supra 5 speed, and has 300mm VT commo vented disks on the front, with VT twin piston calipers and 1" bore master cylinder. Does anyone know of decent disk brake upgrades at a very low cost for the rear of the gemini, or a strong diff with decent brakes that is easy to install?? All help greatly appreciated.

Cheers.........................6BOOST:)

I think Nismo-gemini has just done it
Commodore disc rear on the ori Gemini diff
Failing that its time to cut down a bigger diff

I took a look at changing the rear brakes on my Gemini sports sedan, but decided that due to the configuration of the diff (torque tube) on Geminis I would stick with a modified drum system. There are larger wheel cylinders to suit the Gemmi as well and quite good grade material for the rear shoes.
In my case they are more than sufficient as the car weighs in around 750kgs and has less power than yours.
However a good diff builder should be able to mod the diff to suit Commodore discs.
I had to modify the master cylinder arrangement to suit the larger front system however.

VL Callipers and disks are supposedly a straight bolt up with only a larger bearing necessary, I'm just about to do it myself, and Gene (NISMO GEMINI), has done it, either message him or try the hotgemini website for info. I've also done the VT front brake upgrade, pretty simple... Did you also get the kit from hoppers???

Whats the deal on decent rear lining.....I'm having a hard time tracking it down lately. The only thing I can get is Pagid RA from Barrie but the price has doubled since last year. What are you using ??

i should have my rears done in a week, (waiting on the disks to be drilled 4x100) but everything bolts on from a VL to thet gemini diff. the only thing u need to do is put VL axel bearings on or a 2mm shim behind the gemini axel bearings. this is what iv been told.
im trying the vl bearings this weekend, if it dont work then i will put the shim in.
will take pics and let yas know how it goes.

The adapter for the 1" master cylinder looks pretty simple, tell you what, if you PM me your number, and I give you a call, we could help each other out, you let me know how to go about these brakes, and I will try and get some detailed drawings and sizing for this adapter for you:)

Hopefully talk soon:)

No Dattoman...........they didn't come from Barrie
I had a set of exchange shoes rebonded within the Race Brakes operation.
I used Comp 6 due to the light weight of the vehicle
What vehicle are you struggling with - I presume the Datto??

And I made a 1 inch master cylinder to fit straight inot the existing pedal box, but had to have a booster modded to fit

Nah
Datto is discs all round......its a real race car
I mean material for customers...Howard sent me Indian Rani lining last time and all he did was rivet the corners and charge me for comp stuff.
No-one can afford his Carbon/Kevlar at $400-500 a set so I'm looking for other alternatives.
I have some of the RA from Barrie but like I said its now about $200 to do a set of 10" shoes.......ugggh

Oh yeah if you use the TX booster with the 4 bolt master mount you can bolt up any of the Toyota master cylinders. Lots of different sizes in those so you can play around with it.

My linings were the old style RB linings. These of course have now been stopped in manufacture due to issues with their composition.
You are right in that the only ones now offered by RB are the carbon/kevlar at around the pricing structure you mentioned.
The pricing of the RAs seems to be the way to go at the moment
