Hi there,

Can anyone please tell me whats missing? :) and what this "wastegate" is?
I got it in a box. off a mate who got it in a box, and i realy have no idea what it is :)

The only thing i have left in the box thats not in the pictures is the screamer pipe, but apart from that, thats all ive got!!

Any info would be great!!

Thanks

I think you will find that it is a garret 32mm waste gate with the ID plate missing. most likely a 9 PSI spring. Like the one in the attached photo except I have made this one into a bolt up flange.

I think you will find that the best place to get parts would be from a garret dealer, not a performance shop. What car is it getting put on???

Yeah, thats what iw as thinking, ill have a look in the yellowpages at a more god'ly hour :)

Its going onto a vl turbo,, i know its not huge, but it has to be better then an internal gate!

I was allso thinking about putting it on my lathe and spining it out a little bit bigger? 35? 38mm? worth the trouble?

Thanks again :>

if it doesn't cost you anything then it's worth it. And I would rather do it before putting it on and having to pull it back off. VL turbo's don't have much room.

Yeah,, tell me about it,

It has an aftermarket plenum and himount turbo manifold,,. but the turbo manifold isnt on yet, waiting till i get my turbo and wastegate to make sure its all going to fit,
Hopefully it will make it all a bit more user friendly, :)

i think the 3.5" dump pipe might be a bit exciting,. may have to live with a 3". but where is the bling in that :)

Should i dump the wastegate? just for rice value? :)

I would bleed the waste gate before the cat for emission reasons but for power feed it out behind the cat. I'm getting old though so I like my drivability. here is a design you can use it still allows 3.5 inch pipe

Nice!! :)

what turbo is that??

the manifold looks much more impressive then mine,

*seepic*

Is that engine in the car and runing now?
what sort of numbers?

Cheers :)

that manifold was built for a mate. We set it up n his spare engine. The Turbo is a T66 with a 1.00 exhaust housing. A little to big for my liking. I'm deciding what to do with my VL at the moment. I hasn't been driven for seven months, only because I got a company car. If I go a head with doing up mine it will look stock, that way I can suck a few local tosses into dragging.

Shivers. 66 with a 1.0 hot side :) when that boots its not going to stop for anyone!!!!

yeah, i sometimes wish i didnt *show pony* my car,
but on the same note, it dose get alot of good words for the way it looks,

Is that engine running yet?

dose the turbo feel to big??

I'm still up in the air on how big i want to go,

May just go a big ugly hiflow with the 32mm gate,

Cheers
