Hi everyone.

I thought I wouldn't intrude on Imashy's thread, and post my own.

I know, there's quite a few threads about advice on brake pads, and I've looked up some old threads, but thought you could give me advice on what brake pads you recommend for my car.

I drive a vtir teg which has moderate modifications to it. I'm due for new brake pads on the front. I currently have the bendix ultimates on the front. They have lasted about a year and a half, and approx 35 - 40K.

I've also taken the car to wakefield 3 times during that time, and done around 30 laps each time. Haven't had any problems with brake fade. I don't particularly care about brake dust.

What I'm looking for, is something that handles well on the street and can hack a few track days a year and won't break the bank account either.

I've heard mixed things about the EBC Greens but was considering giving them a go.

Also...I could do without pads that will harm my rotors, as my cousin states...I can't grind them anymore lol.

Although I'm not a big fan of using Ultimates on the track.
If it aint broke don't fix it!

EBC pads work well with some driving styles and not with others.

You could get some Formula Ferodo pads cut down to suit your car. Once a year isn't a big deal. These are very good.

Steve,

do you think the EBC greens wouldn't work well with my driving style. I like to fang it around corners ;)

I'll email them about the ferodos so I get a idea on the price difference.

Ta :)

Thanks Steve.

I'm just awaiting a reply from competition friction. Do you happen to know anywhere that may sell them in Sydney?

cheers,
Q.

Let us know how the Ferodo's stand up compared with the Ultimates, particularly concerning rotor wear. And cost/benefit of course.

No problems. I ordered them this morning. They are getting them in from the UK. :D

Hey Spunky,

You took the limelight away from my thread:mad:

Just joking;)

So how much were the ferodo's? Where did you end up getting it from? Contact details?

Thanks.

I ordered them from race brakes $235.

competition friction came back with a quote of $215 after I already ordered them (but they are supplying them to race brakes anyway :p

anyway race brakes are in wetherill park, and competition friction are in canberra, so it would have probably cost me to get them shipped up here anyway.

I won't get them for atleast 3 weeks though, because none for my car in the country.

contact details are on their site.

I have had ebc greenstuff on my fronts for awhile now, and have been to 2 tracks days with em.

I'm very impressed by them and will keep on using em. :)
