hi all, im wanting to replace my shthouse 8 inch tornado "woofers"
with a sub.

i will be keeping the 4 inch xplod splits i put in the dash a while ago, and i will be running evrything off a jaycar response 4X50 watt amp, the sub will be running two of these bridged (channels that is, not amps).

trying to decide between a 10 inch and a 12 sub

the way i see it, im not trying to out doof anyone, and the ten will be smaller, lighter and i already have enough MDF offcuts to make a box for a ten inch sub.

so given this, is there any reason i should use a 12?

cheers, please feel free to share you poverty spec sound systems

what car?

10"or even 2 8" subs would do nicely. buy them on efficiency say 94db/m or so if you have the option of rear speakers add a set of 6" and run them from the radio.

yeah 10's or 8's. definitely wouldn't go 12's if you've only got 4" speakers in the front. Getting some midbass 6" drivers in there somewhere would certainly help too.

Nothing quite like a nice tight 10" subwoofer. Just make sure you give it as much power as you can afford. :)
