Yeah baby!

Was at Springwood Suzuki having a look at the new GSXR750... and what did I spy in the driveway? No way as I going to miss this.. and it was only two hours until closing time so I decided to stick around, regardless of the wait! :D

Luckily for me it was only about 5 minutes before he turned it over, and a few minutes after that she went down the street... oh yes. VERY yes.

Just babied it up the street in first, then gave it a squeeze.. all the right noises and can vouch for the fact that it probably does have 290hp :)

Apparently a mate spotted it on a cruise with a few other busas after the superbikes... strangely it seemed to go better than the others ;)

Turbo Busas are the poo. Twisting the throttle would be a combination of ecsacy and spittle-flecked terror, but in a good way. Power wheelies in top at 250+ would be insane. But also in a good way.

400hp and 300kg with rider. That'd be like my 'line having near on 2500hp, yikes!!

Jason, you wouldn't happen to have those pictures in 1600x1200 (or even 1024x768) would you? :D

9.8 seconds down the 1/4 stock, so yes.....

edit - not to mention the highest top speed bike aswell

Yeah, there's a busa up here running consistent 9.4's @ 14x mph with basically nothing done to it.. pipe, filter, tune....

Revhead,
Yeah, send me a PM with your email and I'll send you them at 1600x1200 if you want...

I only hosted those pics last night, and there have already been 900 hits to that temp section and around 70 direct links for each image to other sites....

If bikes are this popular I might have to photograph lots more of them......

Yep Jason, more bike pics in the future would be groovy

I would love to see/hear/feel a turbocharged big bore bike getting caned, I still watch the mpeg of that dude in the states opening up his turbo'd busa up on the freeway in the states - in-farking-sane I tells ya, I have no idea how he stays on the thing, I would be gripping so tight with my knees I would end up crushing the tank.

The last bike I took photos of for OZ Bike magazine was heaps of fun and the guy was a cool dude, but he was cleaned up by a idiot that came thru a stop sign a week later and the bike was destroyed and he ended up with a new hip and lots of pins and rods in order to help him learn to walk again.

PM sent - cheers :)

Yeah there must be some adrenaline junkies around the place as there are a surprising number of 300hp+ bikes getting around - they're not exactly everywhere of course, but most look stock at a glace... riding one would be a seat-pinching experience, that's for sure.

There's at least two turbo Busas in Townsville of all places and a GSX1400 that's soon to have a huffer and gas :D

Mad people everywhere ;)

I spoke to the owner the other night down the Gold Coast. It ran 9.8 @ 156mph with full exhaust and standard swingarm with hmmm "traction issues". Now the exhaust exits straight out of the turbo, screamer pipe and also an extended swingarm fitted now plus he's just picked up a wheelie bar for the strip now.. He said it'll do 8's as is. A very nice bloke to talk too. That 290 was rwhp too, it's soon to have water/meth injection fitted to make over 300+

Yes those turbo busas are fun to be on :D

Jamie (the red one) is hoping to run 200mph on his next pass

As TD302 said to him that night, "you need brass balls to ride that wouldn't you?" He just gave us a grin back. It does sound very kewl cruisin beside it on the highway and by the sound of it he wants to do a few more mods on it yet. I've seen it run down the 1/4 a few times, he doesn't get up until a few gears but when he does it just puts on a crap lod of Mph. Crazy crazy ride

Well I just bought a 250 so he and his two-hundred-nintety horsepower had better watch out at the next set of lights... :D

Leigh, what did you get?? We'll have to meet up and go for a ride.

Oh, and thanks HEAPS for the pics Southo, I now have a rather tough looking Busa dash gracing my desktop :D

Just picked up CR's old thing on the cheap. He's getting a roadie and I'm paying for a new clutch at the same time.

Not the neatest thing in the world, but I figure a first bike should be exactly like this one! I'll obviously treat it well but if you buy a bike for under $2k the most you can lose is $2k!

Keen to catch up for a ride, but want to get about on it for a month or so first without any pressure to get my skills back up! Should be getting it in the next week or so... the wait is already killing me.

Ah so you got the sewing machine :D Bloody great first bike actually, stable, comfortable, quick enough, and the cops won't even look at you. I usually just putt around on the street so there'd be no pressure. Hell, I can't even wheelie...

Hang on, Chris is getting a roadie??? I think a phone call is in order!
