Normally people complain about hoons on bikes, but recently i've seen a couple of cases of the opposite on bikes which is a bit of a worry

1. a learner on a CB250 riding at 70kph just short of mansfield, heading towards the snow, at 6:30 in the morning. It was quite foggy and dark but in a car you could comfortably sit at the speed limit and have enough vision. i first saw a tail light and the guy was going so slow i thought it was a push bike rider. that time of day a lot of people are drving at 120 on those roads.

2. a guy on what looked like a virago doing 70 on the ring road in peak hour traffic. what was more worrying was that one second he was almost riding on the dashed lines between lanes, the next second he was at the extreme left of his lane. wind was less than 5kph.

testing for licenses in vic is a joke really. i'm not worried for my safety on the road as i have many years of dirtbike riding experience, as well as 6 years in cars, but you have to wonder about some people.

I think in case number one, you'd be a fool to drive at 120, at night, in the fog. That said, bike rider was doing the right thing in slowing down. What's he meant to do?

Case 2, fair enough. Sounds like he was drunk.

yeah no.1 wasn't as bad as some. whilst i was travelling at the speed limit many don't on the way to the snow. if it was me, i wouldn't have been riding a bike in those conditions, but i have the choice as i own a car as well. then again being more experienced than the learner rider, i would have felt comfortable to sit on the same speed as the rest of the traffic in those conditions
