I am in need of rear brake pads for my leone rally car (4wd non-turbo with DR box). I have RX turbo rear disc brakes on there.

The rear pads are running very low and I am looking at replacing them. I am using Ferodo DS3000s on the front, but I don't want to spend anywhere near that sort of money on the rear.

Would something like a metal king plus or a lucas pad be suitable? Does anyone have any suggestions?

BTW - search still doesn't work

Ferodo DS2500s, Ferodo TSxx00 (sorry, I can't recall the number - they're apparently the old DS2500s but made in some third world counrty and sold as a road pad - some digging of this forum will unearth a great post from one of the brake gurus).

Or the NEW Bendix Ultimates seem to be OK - finally making an attempt to live up to their name...

TS2000 is what you were thinking Spac.......and they are DS2000 without the thermal barrier between friction material and backing plate (biscuit). Same material....made in Italy. Just shipped to Thailand (hence the "T" prefix) and bonded to the backing plates.

If your running RX turbo rear calipers your pad shape should be DB1186 right ?
If thats the case they are available in TS2000 and DS2500.

Here is a site that has a direct comparison of most of the Competition Pads.

From my experience with running good competition pads in the front and cheaper pads in the back, if I pushed hard enough, the back pads started to go off... IMO, try and run the same pads front and rear. Consistancy is important for being able to drive with confidence (generally faster).

Pads are actually DB419 - the DB1186 are liberty rear brakes

Anything would be an improvement of what I have at the moment - previous owner put standards in there to save money when he sold the car . Not that much of a problem on the rear, but front......

Could always give Nicholas Bates a call at performance friction: 02 6226 8877

That's where I got the DS3000s from. I will try and give him a call over the next few days

DB419's.....are you mad !!!

Just kidding......it looks abit like a Nissan rear shape. You won't get much off the shelf for this. It would need to be cut from another pad if you want something halkf reasonable.

Good luck

I know, tiny aren't they.

At the moment I have been stuck with 13" rims, but I am converting to 14" later this year and if I keep the car I will look at something bigger in the future - everything will be a complete fabrication though :(
