I was speaking to someone I know about brake bias valves the other day, and he was telling me about how it is possible to modify the brake bias valves on Mini's to make them adjustable (drilling the valve out and putting in a bolt so that you can adjust the tension on the spring). This seems like a pretty clever idea, and I was wondering if this could be done on more commonly found brake bias valves eg the one found on the Holden Rodeo ute? It's small, has 2 bolts in it that look like they have something to do with the valving...?

Alternatively, was looking at some other utes, and some of them have load-dependant brake bias valves... However I've noticed that most of these have 3 fittings, 2 that come from the cabin and one that goes to the brakes? Why 2 inputs? Or does the 2nd one go to the front brakes? Can you just block one off? Would it still work?

Yes you can modify the mini one, there's a description in Vizrds mini book, but I'd be inclined just to buy a new tilton or similar ajustable one, I don't think that they are that exxy, & if you have to pay someone to modify a factory one you probably wont end up saving yourslef that much.

Cant answer your 2nd question.

Some Peugeots have those load dependant bias valves too.

it would be easier to just replace the spring, if you can put your mind to working out what spring size and rate you require.

I thought about it after replacing my prop valve (dismantled the old one) - but the complexity of converting it to a (reliable and safe) adjustable valve would be more trouble than it's worth (might as well buy a Wilwood).
