Obtaining a Diesel Fitting / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Aprenticeship

Anyone got a Diesel Fitting apprenticeship? I'm looking at starting one. I have applied to a few advertised in my local paper, and i'm going to drop in my resume to a few of the more reputable businesses around town. :)

Any advice for interviews or anything to put on my resume?

Anyone in the trade got any comments on it at all?

Did you look into getting a trade from the Army? There is a fair chance that after you do the Initial Employment Training you could do the On Job Training back in Townesville (if you wanted but you would have the choice of Sydney Brisbane or Darwin) after the that you could probably get Townesville again.I can highly recommend it.
