G'day,
Just wondering how much the MSD 6A ignition module does.... is it just an amplifier, or does it control any form of advance itself or anything?

Thanks

Rob

Yes, it is just an amplifier, although below a certain rpm range, it produces multiple sparks over a certain period of crank rotation for better idle quality, responsiveness etc.

IMHO the Crane HI-6 is far better than the MSD 6A.

I will be using it to receive signal from a spark computer to fire the coil... would the MSD or the Crane both be suitable for this?

i have used 6a's with microtech's a few times and never had a problem, they had plenty of spark thats for sure

They are awesome. The only thing is to never let them spark without leads in or somewhere for the spark to go. I killed a couple in the olden days by running them with the top off the dizzy ...

Ask Supercrown about his experiences with his Crane Hi-6.

two rules:

Red does not equal positive, it is negative - white is positive. of course you say!! Since when was changing std colour for wires part of retaining the imperial system!!

Don't let your face get too close to the coil. Sparky Sparky on the lips hurts like hell :D

awesome bit of kit btw.

Cheers,
