Heres my nugget...

It has run a best of 12.4 @ 105mph (I backed off due to fear of breakng out :p). MPH's are averageing around the 113mph mark. I've had the car for about 2 and a bit years and still loving every minute of it.

Currently i'm focussing on the drag aspect of it, but within a couple of months I want to do the twisty stuff as well.

It is only running about 185kw at the fronts due to the stock dump pipe. With this replaced it will be hitting well over 200 for sure! :D

Plans are just to enjoy it now. I won't be doing too much more (haha, yeah right) for a while. Maybe if the motor pops I'll go nuts on it, but hopefully that doesn't happen for a while :p

muttaburra

always had a soft spot for the pulsars having owned a N14 Ti. running 12's is pretty awersome. what sort of dollars for the gearbox?

XAC15T
18-02-07, 09:06 AM
Morgs - Thanks mate :)

Lonx - If you have the same amount of power in a lighter chassis, then it's achievable. However, as with any fwd car, if you want it to run good times, a strong mechanical diff (or even a welded one) and some reasonably good tyres are going to be needed. Otherwise, it will be doing 13s all day.

Muttaburra - I am trying not to think about the cost. Because i'm doing a swap with PAR for my current straight-cut synchro box, i'm not sure how much it would cost all up, but you would be looking somewhere in the vicinity of 5-6K. Lets just say it better be bloody worth it :D

[ryan]
18-02-07, 11:32 AM
hahaha you might chop the GTR now Ryan
not that that's a hard task at the moment, bloody thing lol

maybe you should get some head work done so you can rev it out a bit more, you seem to be constantly hitting the limiter :P

XAC15T
16-03-07, 12:10 PM
No real updates...

Raced at Drag Warz on the weekend in Sport FWD, came out top qualifier with a 12.4@114mph. My 60 footers were shitehouse (2.2s) so theres definantly a lower 12 second pass in it for sure. Power is still the same at about 185fwkw. Got another trophy so was pretty happy about that :p

Next step is to get some dedicated drag radials, either MT's or BF Goodrichs, tune, dump and injectors, then take her out again for Compak Attak in May and run consistant 11s :)

As I said, CHE has done 4 of my mates cars (mostly i/c piping work) and it is all really top-notch stuff. Don't mind paying a bit of extra for quality/good service.

Did two 12.5s @ 115mph for some fuckin reason, then realised launch control wasn't working too great because one of the ABS rings was not on the car, thus the shit times. Put it back on, went out, snapped said driveshaft and missed the rest of qualifying.

Went through the first round no probs, red lighted in the second by fuck all

It's been decided that the turbo upgrade is going to wait after Compak Attack, because I need some consistancy out of the cunt to get any chance of being back in the championship... :lol

Hopefully billet shafts and more launch control tuning will be done in time :)

Bit of an update... :)

The car has undergone a bit of a re-vamp... it's now in circuit-spec... i'm over drag and my first love has always been circuit racing, it's just that I have never gotten around to getting the car sorted for it... now after two trackdays i'm hooked! :p

The car has undergone a few changes...

R32 GTR calipers and discs (with re-drilled N16 hubs)
DS2500 pads (going 3000's when these wear out soon)
17x7 OZ Racing Superturismos in white
DZ03G Dunlop semi's
19row mocal oil cooler with relocation kit
Upgraded PWR Radiator
Defi Din Gauges (water temp, oil temp and pressure)

Took it down to wakefield a few weeks ago for the first time, did a 1min11.24 after only around 10 flying laps before it rained and just last weekend on sunday did a 1min23.7 at Oran Park GP for my first supersprint (again first time there). So all in all i'm pretty stoked, considering the car still needs a camber friendly alignment as well as maybe some high adjustment and corner weighting :)

I can honestly say I am hooked on circuit now, now i'm looking at a cage, maybe a surge tank and tidying up a few things...

Heres some vids a mate took from sunday :)
