View Full Version : S14a 200SX
I cheated and copied my post from another forum:
98 S14a 200SX
http://www.unit3.net/200sx/200sx_gympie_01.jpg
Going bits:
S15 Turbo (apparently)
HKS front mount
K&N pod filter
CES split dump pipe
3 inch mild-steel exhaust with a tiny resonator and a homosexual little cannon (it's pretty loud)
Engine torque damper thingy
Apexi AVC-R
GFB Hybrid BOV (half plumb-back, half atmo)
Turning bits:
Tein Super Street coilovers with camber tops
Whiteline adjustable swaybars front and rear
Cusco front strut tower brace
Adjustable castor arms
Pineapple rings
Standard wheels :(
Stopping bits:
Front: Ferodo DS2500 pads
Rear: Racebrakes Comp3 pads
Motul RBF600 Fluid
Other bits:
Apexi EL boost gauge
HKS turbo timer
Nismo gear knob
Clear side indicators (rice)
Alpine head unit with iPod interface
Alpine 2 channel amp
Alpine Type R splits
Snap-on Racing seat cover
Luxo-spec front lip
Wish list:
Wheels with fat rubber
PowerFC
Injectors
Adjustable arms for the rear (camber, toe, etc)
http://www.unit3.net/gallery/d/496-1/front_lip_cropped.jpg
It really needs more tyre and the rear arms for the suspension. Then I'll go chasing more power. Still pretty fun to drive though :)
I think i saw this the other day, do u live north side of bris?
nope
but i drive all over the place
my car isn't interesting enough to get any replies so i'm posting some more pics :D
Old rear struts vs new coilovers:

Pretty coloured bits:

Camber tops:

Braided oil and water lines:
http://www.unit3.net/gallery/d/500-2/gasket__amp__lines_01.JPG
(we did these when changing the exhaust manifold gasket - the standard metal lines are known for being a pain in the arse to get back on/cracking).
Metal intake pipe:

(standard rubber ones can sometimes suck flat on boost)
I like it :D
If I was to buy a s14a, it would look exactly like that :yup:
I'm trying to track down some nice wheels for it at the moment.
But it seems I have pretty expensive taste.
Yeah x2...
Jap-lightweight rim prices FTL :(
Maybe Gerard can help you out. He can get anything, he's trying to con me into some Volks at the moment
Love the colour, teh Silvia rules, what else can you say? Big front anti sway bar there, guess it would be solid not hollow? Diameter?
Nice Ride :) Good to see you paying attention to the suspension, I reckon the S14/a chassis is a pretty good base (for the price) to make an entertaining drive with a few suspension tweaks. That combined with a few minor mods to the SR makes for a reasonable all-rounder imo..
Get some fatter rubber and hit the track I'm sure you'll enjoy it bigtime..

front is solid 27mm
rear is solid 20mm

that's the plan :)
So I finally got some wheels (and took shitty pictures of them):

They are Nismo LM GT4.
17 x 8.5 +30 rears
17 x 7.5 +30 fronts

Nice. The lux spec bar extension at the front makes a big difference.
Where did you get your oil & water lines from?

Needs less ride height and more camber.
That looks really really sweet, congrats !! :)

pffft
already have about -2.5 deg on each side at the rear, which is too much
and if i lower it any more i catch my dump pipe on every speed bump :(

Sorry I didn't see this question until now.
I got Mercury Motorsport to make up the lines for me, but you can get pre-made ones here (http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/Maltech-Braided-Products-t210417.html)

Mmm makes me miss my old 200sx. They handle so sweetly with some decent suspension.
