I have a set of R32 GTR callipers that I am looking to adapt to my current Liberty project along with STi 325mm rotors. They need a slight machining on the outer edges of the calliper to suit the much larger rotor radius but other wise should work out ok.

Any specifics I should look out for? I did a search and found some good general info(rotor/calliper radius for one) but nothing specific as I doubt anyone has bothered doing this specific upgrade before.

I was going to make the bracket adaptors from steel rather than alloy(it's just a road car), any specific quality of steel necessary? It will be milled from a single piece, no welding or heating.

I gather from other threads that 12.9 grade bolts are the go for calliper and bracket fixing, true?

Thanks for any help.

Ok, here is some brackets I had a mate make on a mill.

Not 100% happy with the bracket shape so may get a second pair made.
The bracket is about 9mm at it's thinnest point and is machined from mild steel plate (16mm).
What do people who have experience with brake brackets think of this?

Fits under WRX 17" with a 6mm wheel spacer.

sounds simila to my setup.

i have 33 gtst calipers . on 330mm commie vented/slotted disks.
custom made brackets out of 6mm steel plate. used 3 pieces each side to get the offset right. all plasma cut then welded then milled to ensure straightness.

problems encountered =
brake pad squeel = pad to big for the disk. making contact witht he outer edge of the disk.
solution = grind the excess pad away so it's not touching the disk. only leave the contact area.

that's it !!
keep in mind the calipers i have are for 300 x 32mm disks and i'm running them on 330 x 30mm disks.

i'm looking at going back to 300mm rotors so i can get some smaller wheels on the front so semi slicks are cheeper.
