Well, its the first lion to enter the gates of 08ESITY in a damn long time!!

Shes my great uncles old HR Special 186 wagon. He brought it new, late in 1966 ( so all the books in the glove box say )

Its got 113 thousand miles on it, and is on its 3rd engine ( and its farked too )

It hasnt been registered in 11 years, and was pretty grubby as u can see by the pix

The pic below is the first time its seen sunshine in 8 or so years, as it has just emerged from the shed.

Ill post some better pix of the clean up / rebuild when i get home from hols ( as dialup here is painful )

I have also wanted a nice HR wagon, can I suggest you do it in the factory colour and chuck on a 17" boyd smoothies, will look the shit. If I ever do build one it will have a carbed vn headed 304 and a turbo 700, ultimate cruiser.

Nice find.

$200 was a good price too :)

once we fix the rust in the bottom of the guards 95% surface rust ( total rust wouldnt be bigger than a 20 cent peice ) and get the rh guard replaced, she will look sweet as.

24 hours after being dragged out of the shed, its been detailed, it took 2 of us 10 hours and we arent finished yet!! below is a before and after pic of the back seat, and a pic of the exterior after a buff.

The interior in this thing isnt just LIKE new, it IS new!! ( it still smells new ) once we have done the front seat, floor mats and the rest of the door panels, ill post pix.

Likewise. My HR X2 sedan was the best cruiser I have ever owned. Should never have sold it. :knock:

yeah..worst bit is mine was my first car, so if i kept it i wouldve stuffed it anyway :(

can you still get cheap old holdens in brissy these days like you used to be able to? or has the price skyrocketed?

i wouldnt mind another hr, thought i would most likely go a sedan this time

hr's arent worth anything. ive seen as new premiers for 7 - 8 grand, whereas an eh or xy in the same condition gets a shitload more coin.
