The batteryman nic is because I work for a battery company here in Sydney. My wife calls me a grumpy rooster so that's how I got that name.

That is my mate's All Motor drag Civic. That pic was taken on the night that I raced it back in January of this year. I help out with the car other times. Best time so far 11.92 @ 114mph, 1.72 60'. That time was done at Compak Attack a few weeks ago.

What about yourself? Where's the pics and specs of your car? :)

Yes. All Motor is the same as Unblown in Pro Street.

The car weighs 790kg without driver. It only makes 130kw at the wheels from a near stock H22A Prelude engine. 3rd fastest All Motor FWD in the country.

Their fairly stout numbers yourself for such a heavy lump. Will be good with the new engine with a few more cubes. :)

Yup, I'm TKnight on Dragster.com
Not racing due to no track in Adelaide, hopefull that'll be remedied soon.
Work bus is HX tonner with spare parts red headed 388 holden stroker, 3000 stall, t350 & 3.5 geared lsd 9".
Makes 344hp atw & should be good for a low 11 - but I'll have a bit of a wait to find out.
Currently working on a twin turbo, intercooled & injected setup for it, so I may not end up running it NA - depends how long the TT setup takes.
Also got a full tube chassis fiat 850 sport coupe set up for SBC & glide, will probably run in A/Gas - but that's a long way off completing, not touching it till we have an Andra strip, there's just no point.

I've run a few streeters in the past, all low buck beaters - nuthin worth mentioning, but I haven't raced for a good 2.5 - 3 years, getting a bit upset about that.

Maybe this should be in general?, mods?

WSID - 7th of Feb this year - Testing the auto and driving like an amateur trying to watch too many things at once! :D

GOOD: Launching without wheel spin, how hard the 3-speed shifts, screamer pipe

BAD: Slippery as hell converter, driving like a monkey!

Video (http://www.cacklingpipes.com/videos/temp/2rismo/070214%202rismo.wmv)

Adrian

** edit ** converter now fixed and picked up 5mph straight away - all racing on street tyres - no transbrake althoug it sounds like it on the 2nd pass (that's how loose the converter was :() - driver also not driving like a monkey any more - ECU change to SM4 on the go right now too.

Debacle, I run a Alloy headed 393 in my XY, was dyno'd at 502.2hp (engine).
Mine is only a solid camed street car though.

I am yet to run it at WSID because I have no tyres for it so it wont even stall up on the convertor (4500rpm) :(
It should hopefully run an 11 once I get some tyres and head out to WSID.
Although I am tempted to just go out there one day and see how bad the wheelspin is...

Just a quick question for the few guys here brave enough to say that they are drag racing fans.
What is the fastest anyone has gone down the quarter mile.
World record ET and MPH.
Jet powered does not count.

Fondles
08-06-07, 09:15 PM
fastest 1/4 mile was run by Kitty O’Neil E.T: 3.235 @ 412mph in 1977,
she was piloting a hydrogen peroxide fuelled rocket dragster.

i think tony schumacher has the fuel record somewhere around 4.4 not sure of the mph though

Thats 0-660km/h in 3.235 secs.
Got a G suit?

There was a few freaks running peroxide rocket powered karts may years ago, I think 4 were built, they got banned coz 3 of them killed their drivers.
If they were pointed straight up that's the direction they would've gone, only thing stopping them getting airborne was a couple of wings for downforce.
I read an interview with Rosco McGlashan (speeling?) who had piloted one at 1/4 thrust - his comment was it just went WHOOSH & fucked off.

my galant went 13.53 @ 106mph + 10psi and 42 hp shot ( 1st ever pass, off the trailer, full street trim and untuned)

Best run was 13.49 @ 105mph, with wheelspin an issue. The best it got to 60ft was a mindblowing 2.03

Got a pair of 26 x 8.5 x 15 M/T slicks to run on it in august.

Has the speed for a 12 second pass, and with the slicks, and a touch more nos, it should see it easily!

I like the drags. I don't really "race" yet. I just like modifying my car in the pursuit of quicker and faster times.

My car is a R31 with a 2JZ, best time is 11.4 @ 125 with a 2 second 60 foot time. I am hoping for mid 10's at 130 with a bigger stall, more boost and more traction. The trick is not getting kicked out of Willowbank.

I’ve recently taken my 2JZGTE Toyota Aristo out to the drags.

With a 3900lb race weight (1780kg) it ran 12.9 @ 113 (2.1 60ft)…. New converter & valve body (still stock) I can’t see why it would not run a mid to low 12.

Given weight and MPH it would be making around ~375rwhp….. I’ve spend $730 in mods from standard.

I’m actually pretty confident I’d pick up some more MPH as well as my last couple of runs the sparks were fowled (cold night & cold plugs, gapped too small as it turns out) so I turned the boost down….. Still ran 113mph on 2psi less boost (as early runs were done with a heap of heatsoak).
