View Full Version : Old stale rice re-heated (bitsamisn)
I have been a lurker on this forum for a while. It is a great place to learn or laugh.
Of course I have learnt that turbo 4 bangers are very 90s.
The new hotness is turbo 6s or twin force fed 8s.
Still this is my on going project. I have owned it for about 13 years. It is a JB Starion.

It now has a large port VR4 4G63
Motec
Fancy rods and slugs
BB turbo
Over sized stainless valves

god that's awesome
what did you do about the gearbox and diff?
nicely perverse.. i have a soft spot for them too :)
Cheers Stocky.
Diff is a hard to find tall factory LSD.
Gearbox is a Supra 5 speed (not sure from what year).
tidy, i definitely didn't expect that for an engine bay :)
VERY nice, great looking car and an excellent looking engine bay!
The only let down for me on older cars is the interior.. no matter how nice they made the old metal from the outside, the inside is still very bad.
Nice just needs some dishy wheels to finish it off!

fucking love it!
first force fed car I ever drove was a starion, so I've always had a soft spot for them
Bet you scare the shit out of many a S13 owner

Now I can say what everyone else used to say to me when I had mine.
'Hey I used to have one of those, great cars'

what did you do about the gearbox and diff?
more than likey used the starion block with a VR4 head, that way you can still use the stock starion drivetrain.
very cool car, that turbo must spool on a fart ;)
Love the stock exterior, then WHAM when the bonnet opens.
Man that is so nice.
What sort of power does it make?

I love this car! Agree, add some big dished rims and you are set. Nice work!
Thanks all. It has been a long haul with many "Phee style" (no insult intended) disasters along the way.
And as always is still a work in progress. I think I am nearly halfway there.
The turbo is not what you would call laggy :D
Last time it was on a dyno it made just 196rwkw at low boost. She ran out of fuel.
The styling is unmistakably "cutting edge" 80s. Inside and out. (Helps add character I keep telling myself.)
Wheels are on the list of things to do. Need them before the next brake upgrade, and the major suspension overhaul.
Mortgage is slowing down my fun.
Would be more cutting edge 80s if you could get one of those brushed alloy digital dashes :)

Hell yeah. Nothing oozes class quite like plastic imitation metal.
Does that dash come with the self destructing clips to hold everything together?
Very nicely understated. Should have a few fasts!
Oh, and what number JB is it?

That makes me think of knight rider... I don't even know if he had a dash like that...

thats awesome :)
reminds me of the days playing with nxtimes starion!!
I like this alot but I still have to ask why did you use all that speedflow just to connect to your catchcan? There much be $150 worth of it there.
2ofdem: I have a source.:)
Yeah me likey
Don't your knees keep hitting those guages?
