G'day all, sold the Falcon turbo within a week so I
picked up a 1997 A4 TQ on the weekend and drove it home yesterday. From North sydney to Adelaide and got in at 6am this morning.
Took for a quick wash this arvo and here it is:

The rear shot is a little dodgy due to shooting into the sun

Not sure how it scored the APR badging but it has some nice sports suspension, a big stupid exhaust (2.5" cat back which is fine.. but one of those stupid SS mufflers on the back) , upgraded slotted and drilled brakes allround. Some carbon fibre grill, projector headlights and the nice wheels (not sure what type of wheels)
Also has some little boost gauge fitted (which I will get rid of.. don't really see the point) and a Carpc, which.. while very cool is just useless to me so I'll going to rip it out and just fit a normal headunit.

Needs a bit of work though.. the window tinting needs redoing, a gearbox mount is cracked and the front upper control arms are worn and need replacing, then that little front grill thing needs replacing and some stone chips need sorting out.

Obviously a drop down from the XR6T but it's a hell of a lot cheaper to run and out handles and out brakes the T.
I'll go take some decent shots later in the week.

Nice one :)

Given the APR badges, it might be chipped?

Pity about the aftermarket headlights, though. IMHO the GP headlights look a lot better.

Looks nice and straight, like the colour, should be a good base to start from ;)

Whats those things on the back window...?

Oh, and you would'nt be having a dig would you..? :)

sold the Falcon turbo within a week

The things on the back window are for a factory roof spoiler.. don't know if I really want to fit that but not sure how to get the things off.. Obviously the spoiler was on there at some stage.

The car isn't chipped, you can see on the wanky boost gauge that it only gets up to just under .05 bar and while the projectors are not really my thing at least he did spent the money and install HID lights, so the view at night is fantastic.

Not having a dig re selling the falcon.. I was just shocked how quickly it sold. I got what I paid for it and I was expecting it to take a month or 2 to move.

Looks like a nice ride dude. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Get rid of those VW centre c(r)aps though. STAT!

Cheers,
I need to find out what type of wheels they are.. they look similar to Lenso Concept fives but slightly different..

Get rid of those dodgey lights ASAP. The later B5 chassis A4 had very good projector lights, like Cals. From what I've heard this aftermarket ones are shit. Still, better then the early lights or the "upgrade" 3 bulb ones. Give Guy Harding a call re the chip. APR has a multimode one of which includes a Valet mode, which limits boost somewhat. Give him the car's details and he should know if it has been flashed by APR.

Not sure if I like the lights but neat and tidy otherwise, great sleeper potential. 4WD means no more sideways drifticles though :(

Meh, while I would never go buy aftermarket lights for a car, I don't dislike them enough to pay good money for a set of other ones.
These ones work perfectly fine, on low beam they have fitted an excellent HID kit which is amazingly bright and they even have gay little angel eyes for the parkers.

Picked up some new tyres for it today ordered a new turbo as well (just the same old k03) due to a stuffed wastegate spring and a new pioneer deck to replace the carpc that was in there.

While I miss the drifts I took it for a spin through the hills on the way home tonight, good fun having all that grip but there certainly is a disconnect between the car and the driver. You barely feel like your driving it which in one way is good, but it takes some getting used to.

I also actually prefer having a car I can tinker with.. the falcon was to new for me to really want to stuff around with it.
With this thing I don't have any such concern.
For the moment though I'm just going to chip it and sloth around.

So you now know what I was talking about.

Yeah, completely.
It's still a lot of fun but I wouldn't say I'm an AWD master yet, they certainly require a different driving style.
I just can't wait for it to rain sometime so I can feel like the AWD is worthwhile :D
