Up till about two months ago it started real easy - then it needed a little more cranking over, now I need to let the fuel pump charge up the system and then give two pumps of the accelerator and hold it half down to start the car.

In the last month if I put the car in neutral or park, the engine runs rough, lately it just dies. Leave it in any gear however, and it's fine.

Would I be right in guessing it's an idle management module or similar that's dodgy?

Where do I find it if it exists?

Lexcen? Excel? Lexus?

A lexcel is a Lexcen with a bit of the badge broken off.

Update: I suspect the 'idling poorly' and 'idling badly' stages both coincided with filling up at a particular servo that I am pretty sure does not offer E10.

I filled up at another servo last night and the car idles *much* bettter, to the point where it no longer stalls. Still difficult to start, however, but that may be a different issue.

*wonders if he picked up two bad tanks of fuel a number of weeks apart*

Still confused as to how fuel could cause bad idling (even bad when in a high idle from the accelerator) but allow it to run properly when sitting at idle in gear. (It's an auto box, BTW)

a throttle body clean and an oxygen sensor never seems to go astray on these. best 70-odd bucks you'll ever spend.
