The CLAP

So I bought the ex-Jim, ex-ALLMTR Applause a few weeks back and after a gruelling pre-event check of changing two tyres for some better ones I had and changing the oil, it made it's competition debut at Ansell Park yesterday.

It handled the day bloody well and I had a heap of fun, would probably be a little faster with a hydraulic handbrake but I can't be arsed putting one in at the moment!

Next event will be it's designated driver's debut at a motorkhana at Oran Park skidpan.

I have 15in rally tyres here too rememeber.

I'm trying to find some smaller ones and wheels to put them on, would love some 13's to get the ratio nice and low, but will probably settle for 14's

theres a dude in the MG car club that does retread rally tread for cheap

I've got a lead on some 14inch wheels and rally tyres, more interested in the wheels, but if the combined price is OK I shoud be sorted.

There are various types of events on most weekends as long as you don't mind entering some minor rally stuff as well. Next one I am entering is concrete at Oran Park, normally get a wide variety of cars there and I ran the XR8 in one a few months ago. There was a couple of Commode utes running as well.

I'm sure speed will eventually kill this car! :D

I paid 150 bucks for it, got 700 for some idiot hitting the rear guard and put 45000ks on it in 10 months :)
