Howdy gents,

I'm going to have to change brake pads/rotors soon on the crown, however the front rotors are different to anything i've seen before... See pics below:

What's the deal with the centre section? Wheel studs are connected to the brakes etc? Anyone seen this before?

The rears are fairly standard rotors, so no problems there.

Cheers.

it's a bolt on hub. whooptee-doo. not uncommon at all.

Undo the bolts on the inside of the disc and bop the hub out.

awesome. Having never seen one before, and the lack of info on this particular car, i was kinda stumped on what it was.

Thanks.

Yup, run of the mill Toyota. Undo the bolts and pop the rotor off. May want to spray the threads with some Penetrene or similar.

IF the penetrene doesn't work, get someone with an oxy (or even propane torch) and heat the shanks of the bolts and the material immediately around them. You don't need to get them glowing red, but get them to the point it's uncomfortable to try and touch them with bare hands, they'll undo easily 99 times out of 100 then, or break or round off without the heat!
