Well thought I should add this since it's now running again. Not many photos but will add a few more when I start pulling it apart again this weekend.
Basically the car was bought in 91 to compete in the Gemini series in NSW by my dad, so half roll cage and rally springs later it did the 92 series. After that it sat around for a few years and we decided to try and do a better job.
Ended up getting it finished in 01 and we did a few rallies that year in it. Think it was Port Rally that year we cleaned up a big rock and adjusted the wheel alignment pretty badly so pulled it apart to try and straighten it out. Got that done and it sat in the garage again until about 2 months ago.
Got the car ready again with updated harnesses and all that for a khana and it ran like shit but entered it in the AMSAG rally anyway. Four stages in we finally fixed the fuel pump issue so it is running as well as standard gemini does I suppose.
Specs are:
Full cage
Bilstein Suspension, Arthur Jackson spec springs??
Gemini series motor
plus all the usual rally car crap
Just recently bought an 1800 block so that is going over the summer holidays, along with some more strengthening of the cage and front end(hit a couple of humps a bit hard, it's now making some strange noises). Will also look at getting some sort of LSD if possible. Anyone know how they tighten up the HQ diffs??
Apart from that and some new rubber, the SP83 are 8 years and 5 rallies old, will be looking at running most the AMSAG events and hopefully most of clubman events around canberra and NSW. Pretty sure the Minidulla looks like the goal for the first rally of next year.
So here are the pics.
Oh and if you notice the GPS in the windscreen it's because the Brantz shat itself on the drive up. First drive with no idea on distance was a bit of a laugh. Only one big overshoot...:owned:
