View Full Version : S2/3 RX7 Brake upgrade
Starting to look around at option now for a brake upgrade for when the new motor gets run in.
Series 2 RX7, but I believe S3 front discs/hubs etc, and S3 rear end as everything has a 4x114.3 PCD.
Are there any bolt up upgraded discs available? likewise calipers or do I need to spend up and get some custom setup?
Damo
unlikely bolt up.
back in the day volvo jobbies used to be the go.
alot of IPRA cars run series IV/V (some VI - pretty sure AJC did too) calipers aswell.
can't imagine something like a R32/33 skyline would be any harder either. plenty of pad choices that way too.

S5 rx7 4 pots is an easy conversion just need to make a bracket. most rotary places will do this for you.
I believe Phil Laird uses series 4/5 on the IPRA cars as the step before going to fancy AP's.
He converted my car to 4/5 jobbies with 285mm Audi rotors and my car brakes extremely well.
Ballpark cost on 4/5 upgrade?
Maybe for now I'll just look at some really good pads and upgraded discs.
I had a look on dba's website and they dont appear to have anything but the standard disc available.
Anyone know of companies that do a slotted disc for gen1 rx7's?
my old rotor had skyline 4 pots and 330mm disks.
longer wheel studs required.
10mm of disk pushed the wheel out allowing wider rims.
adjustable tops to pull it all back in under the guard.
adjustable lowers ( cause i could - still have them ).
brackets made.
new lines.
