Maaaaany years ago when i wanted braided lines, I just took the ones off the car, drove over to Earl's and a guy made up braided ones on the spot.
I figure there must be heaps more brands available now, what brand is the hotness in Sydney?

Local place did it for me with the ADR end fittings. Lines were good, place that fitted them and specified the details, not so good...

They're in Melbourne tho.....actually I just realised Earl's is only 10mins down the road from work...
You can also see if Goodridge do a set and purchase through V-port.

+1 for Matt, very very helpful.

No idea on the benefit as I never raced without them on the track.
Technically I believe they are meant to provide a firmer pedal as the original lines would have got a bit soft and bulged.

Thanks. I've been watching your upgrades and am thinking about what mine needs.
I only paid $130 for mine as I bought them from the UK.
I think VSport mentioned around $220 mark for mine when I asked for someone else

I was speaking to Cuss Cuss at Oran Park last weekend and he mentioned he had fitted the Maltech (or Brake Quip) braided lines.
I told him that these lines are NOT suitable for motorsport use (and frankly I am not sure I would have them on my road car either).
As it happens, a line arrived in the mail today from one of our customers.
Fitted to the front of a race car - failed whilst at Eastern Creek.

The last pics shows clearly what happens to these.
The braided line is "held" into the fitting by a rubber sleeve.
The rubber sleeve fails and the braided line comes away from the fitting - generally when you are on the brakes hard!
We have several examples of this failure.
The Goodridge lines are made differently with a metal ferrule clamped directly onto the braided line.
The line at the bottom is the Goodridge one with the anti-whip collars.

Had some made up recently and apparently an alloy reliefe has now been approved recently in QLD.
The Rubber coating was stripped back before inserting into the fitting for crimping.

Still brakequip stuff but much better than rubber
They have stated for years the rubber inserts are not for motorsprt use
And still a smooth shaft where the hose pushes onto though
not a barbed type fitting like a goodridge one

Doesn't stop people selling them for motorsport.

Are the Brakequip ones very cheap or something?
