Seems wrong not to with a 400 buck nitrous kit sitting there

Dave

is 200 bucks a fair starting price for an r31, we spent more on it, but it now has a fucked head gasket and has had a tractor run into it

sounds fair to me

we did buy it for $300, but it's only worth $200 now.

I reckon we can get 13's for $600 without rego.

it has tractor/grader blade scars, but dave has offered to bog and paint it.

but not too much bog. and not too much paint.

Will be built on the 12/13 of Feb, location yet to be determined.

Lightness & nos ftw

I predict this ending in abject failure due to complete apathy as with all projects you two talk up.

31 is lose. Too much friggin around with paint and body work takes time from getting go fast shit done and we've all seen how quick dave moves with paint and panel :)

Dave

this will be epically bodgy, so it needs a bodgy paint job

got any specs on that shitter turbo, it is now owned by the r31

What's a cheap injector upgrade for a VL turbo, needs to be roughly 50% bigger for e85 :)

Anyone got a standard VL turbo hotside to give us for 20 bucks?

Dave
02-02-11, 02:14 PM
ps, i will have this bogged and painted in a weekend

RB30E injectors are 200cc Low imp
RB30ET are 250cc low imp
CA18DET are 370cc low impedance
GTR is 440cc low imp

all have the same plug

the rb30 ones are hosetail, and the ca/gtr ones are o ring, but you can jam the oiring end into the hose on the stock rb30 rail no dramas

Dave

I wonder if the ca18 injectors would go close to running e85 on a standard computer. Would hope that the wide operating range of e85 might mean that it would run okay bulk rich.

p.s. sketchy is a fagatron

ps, anyone got 6 ca18 injectors for 50 bucks?

Dave

ps, sketchy, your turbo is required, ignore previous inflamatory comments

I've heard of a dodgy move whereby you stick the guts of the standard airflow meter into a piece of 75mm NB pvc pipe to make the standard ecu run 'properly' with bosh 036 injectors (which are 550cc from memory), could probably do something similar to account for different sizes.

is there any chance of the standard coil keeping a spark going

Pics are in Bathurst weekend thread. Post them up dave instead of talking smack. I have a full set of rb20 turbo injectors which are 350cc from memory. All we need is a skyline fuel rail or even an e30 6 cyl rail and i can fab up mounts to suit. Stock coil should be fine, will just need to gap the plugs down so spark doesn't blow out. Vl turbo manifold wont be $20 if you can even find one. eBay job or just j pipe stock manifold to suit. Will need an external gate, I have a used 50mm gate sitting at home which will suit fine and is worth fugall.

Dunno if turbo will be any good but can probably get more from good mate who works as a diesel fitter, they throw them out all day long.

ps, i will attempt to bog and paint this and give up after 2 hours moaning about my back or just stand around pointing at everyone else to do shit

fixed for reality :)

yep, cunts make good power and run good times with the factory ignition setup, may need to gap the plugs to .6 to .7, but otherwise should be sweet

270cc, and high (wrong) impedance
