Noooo! My favourite PF racer. The quality of the build and prep is outstanding.

What are you going to build next?

I can vouch for the quality of this car - Smee could give Babs lessons in how to be anal about car prep

We approached one of our sponsors for more money in the coming seasons.
He said, what if I supply a road car you convert into a rally car instead.
Had to pick myself up off the floor.

So, looks like we are building a 2011 Toyota Corolla.
Would look to putting a 2ZZ motor into it.
Need to speak with Neal Bates and the team to get some info on cages etc and go from there.

Have spoken with Murray about suspension and may need to talk with 10sec about some motec work.

So, money saving and part accumulation will keep me out this season.
My No pics will be sad to see it go. She would really like to keep it.

No, but a few manufacturers now doing gearsets and cases for obscure models.

    I keep looking.

Yeah - but there's some voodoo about the case design allowing the shafts to flex under load, the gears slip out of tight mesh and shred themselves. Happens with 3rd gear mainly. Affects the FWD and AWD boxes.

The girdle plate you see in the pics apparently stops the flex by supporting the internals better...

It's been a long time since I've read up on the details, it's now easier/cheaper to put either a Toyota or Evo box instead.

Been some discussion on familia forums about the guys 5000 Euro box.
You need to freight it to him and he will do the work.
Cheaper for me to do the bearing mod I do and run the PAR straight cut box.
The problem with this, is that it moves the load to the right angle drive.
Now, Holinger are looking at making a few sets of these. This will strengthen this part of the box, but may shift load elsewhere.

The reason for failure in my PAR gearbox was a bearing. It was brand new, but just disintegrated. This sent shrapnel all the way through the box and into the centre diff and basically locked everything up. In doing so, it bent or broke every gear in the box and fucked the box totally.

So, new dog gearset to come from PAR as synchro's no longer available OEM.

    Alas, it is gone.

Sold to a buyer on the east coast.

May come out around the Newcastle area in 2018 sometime.

Everything went with it including the GTA-e I was going to restore.
