    Ford Territory power window problems

Mate of mine reckons he's had his Territory into the workshop at Ford for a warrantee claim about 7 - 8 times in the last two years with power window problems.
They have little clips on them somewhere, he says, and they break and the window falls to the bottom and that's that.
And then the door won't stay shut so the car can't be left anywhere.

    Is this a common thing?

I remember the falcons used plastic clips in the window regulators which were known to fail and the window would move or fall down (never seen one totally dissapear). Regulators were riveted together so it was pretty much just replace the whole thing

Cant believe they still have a fucked up part like that in production? ohh, wait..

There was a recall on them back in '05. Perhaps the dealer is just doing a dodgy repair each time?

My mate has one for a work car. The passenger side one broke. The sensor isn't smart enough to stop when the window is completely up. It basically keeps going up and the winder runs off the track. You can fix it temporarily by pulling off the door panel, and reattaching the mechanism, but don't reconnect the switch to stop passengers from re-breaking it, and take it to a dealer to be fixed (hopefully under warranty).

It had just started raining when it happened to my mate, while were up the coast on a fishing trip. What a waste of 45 minutes to fix it, so the window would close and keep the rain out..

Bah, I havnt known a manufacturer yet that makes perfect power windows. Just about all of them have horror stories one way or another.

each of our service centres would get either a falcon or territory window regulator at least once a day. quite a few Hyundai ones too.

P.S. 5 service centres = lots of regulators
