    I'm guessing run #4 was the 11.9 @ 125 ? No vid?

That ain't exactly slow mate, circuit car or otherwise.

Holy shit at run #5, first time I watched it I paused after it got out of shape, then later I watched it again all the way to the end, far out man...

Yep, run 4 there's no vid...or slip... The boys were fixing Dave's VK during that run. Was my only run in the left lane and it was much (some?) grippier, fortunately a PFer's brother saw the run.

Yeah, run 5 was pretty silly. I should have given up after the first tail wag. You can see in the 2nd near lose a couple of corrections, I was headed towards a timing box so corrected it away from that which sent me even closer to the wall. Fortunately circuit cars are pretty good at direction changes! haha. The boys told me after that that the timing boxes are just foam and to not worry about hitting them.

I fitted up the new custom floating rotors tonight, 3kg weight saving per rotor. Bare in mind thatís comparing a fresh rotor with a slightly worn one and itís unsprung rotating mass.

Yeah, a seriously hard decision. Fact is I'd been umming and arring about it for a little while. I love this car to bits, was my dream car as a kid.

So much blood, sweat and tears were poured in to it. But...it's beyond me. I can afford to run it...but I can no longer justify it. Everything is custom made/fabricated, nothings off the shelf. I'm an insurance underwriter, not a race car builder.

Running the numbers, there's $15k a year in maintenance costs. Provided nothing goes bang and there's no accident damage. I'm a 38 year old family man with a mortgage. I'm not PF baller spec but my wife and I earn alright. Can't entertain it anymore.

It upsets me that I haven't had the opportunity to touch its potential yet, but $2-2.5k for a fresh set of rubber and I'm just no longer feeling it. I'm going back to basics. Atmo weber fed old school cool and doing laps for days with mates at sprints. I tried. I failed.

Hardly a failure, almost everyone who takes on something like this never gets it to the track.

As Muz says, not a failure at all, you've shown that you CAN do it. Now you've chosen not too.

No failure I can see. You owned an iconic race car, and used it. You also realised your family is more important than shaving that tenth at Lakeside.

Fuck man, i know that must have been a tough decision, but I get it.

You scratched an itch most of us never will, both in terms of hero/dream car ownership and serious track car seat time... So a massive non-failure imo.

Now you just need a 2nd 125, build one for sprints and one for powercruise

You owned your dream car and got to cut laps in it. No failure there.

Just the brains to realise it isn't worth throwing every cent at a race car when you can have just as much fun in a cheaper option

Cheers guys. Last night I think I had the best night's sleep in I can't remember how long. I don't believe it was a coincidence, I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm looking forward to my next adventure and retitling my "race car" bank account to "savings".

You also took a iconic car that may have never seen the track again and gave it a new lease on life... hopefully the new owner will appreciate it like you did mate

I never had more fun in a car than when Kermit was on 48mm ITBs. I have a virgin bore 2litre, big valve/big cam head, vernier cam wheels and an Abarth side draft straight shot manifold sitting in the shed. I reckon I can make a more powerful motor for significantly less cost this time round. I just need to get the car because 125s are too heavy.

when graham first ran that car is was a massive commitment in time and money to keep it running, you did a great job in restoring/improving it. im sure the new owner will appreciate it.
